❤️ The FRIENDS OF FULWELL COMMUNITY GROUP is hoping to create a Remembrance display, this upcoming November, at the newly restored Fulwell War Memorial. That being said they need the help of our amazing community to do it. So, if you can knit or crochet please read on. They have asked for donations of hand made wool poppies, of any size, to create a netted display. If you think you can donate (even just one poppy) the Group would be very very grateful. The poppies can be handed in at the pub and they’ll then be passed on. Thankyou.

I’ve attached patterns in the comments. We need them asap 🌺

The one show, in Sunderland ahead of the rugby World Cup! And fury off’ov the Gladiators will b there too….

We're excited to announce that will be broadcasting live from Keel Square tomorrow (Thursday 21st Aug), with stars of the rugby world including Ugo Monye, Maggie Alphonsi, as well as Jodie Ounsley (aka Fury from the BBC show, Gladiators), presenting a live segment as the countdown begins for what will be the best-attended Women’s World Cup game in history.

Come down and join the crowd as rugby fever builds across the city 🤩

✨ The story of Wonky ✨

I haven’t shared this in a while, and with so many new faces discovering Wonky, it feels like the right time for a little throwback to how this all began...

When I left my job, I was a bit lost - mentally, emotionally, creatively. I made a piece of WordArt as a gift for a friend who’d just smashed an assault course as part of her fitness journey. It was just a small gesture, but something shifted in me when I made it.
Crafting helped me reconnect with myself. It gave my emotions a way out and let my mind settle. I fell in love with the process - imperfections and all.

I called my crafting business My Wonky Little Heart because, quite honestly, my heart (and head) felt a bit wonky at the time. My makes weren’t perfect, but they were heartfelt.

Now, that name lives on in Wonky Community - a space that’s still beautifully imperfect, both inside and out. It’s a place where creativity, opportunity and community come together.

Whether you pop in for a workshop, an office space, a shop around our destash space or a craft session - just know, this space was made with heart... and a little bit of wonkiness.

We might not be high fashion, but we are high on creativity, kindness, and good company. Come and join us for some co-working or a workshop – you’ll leave with fresh ideas, new pals, and maybe even a little bit of wearable art (on the house, obviously). 🫶🏼 (and it won’t cost you £925).
