"Only gotta ask..."

A customer contacted me after purchasing these flamingo hooks and asked if I could mount them onto a solid oak backing board.

What started as a straightforward request turned into a bespoke handmade piece.

The board itself is made from two pieces of carefully matched oak, joined together to create a substantial and characterful backboard.

The hooks were also slightly loose on their mountings, so each one was securely bonded with resin before fitting.

The oak was then sanded, finished to enhance the natural grain, and fitted with hidden countersunk fixing holes to give a clean, floating appearance on the wall.

I love jobs like this. A customer has an idea, and together we turn it into something unique that you simply can't buy off the shelf.
