🐑 The sheep have taken over… what could possibly go wrong?! 😂

Glass by Fleur is officially on holibobs! ☀️🍹

The online shop is temporarily closed while Saint Simon and I head off for a little break — apparently involving exploring, sunshine and the odd Aperol or two. 🍊🍹

The website is still there though, so you can have a nosey through my gallery, see what I make and start plotting what you might fancy when I’m back.

And as for these three naughty little sheep… 🐑🐑🐑 they’ll be looking for a new home when the shop reopens! This finished freestanding wave will be available to buy, along with some other lovely pieces I’ve been squirrelling away.

For now, they’re apparently in charge.

Meadow duty. Butterfly patrols. Zero deadlines.
I fear they may have misunderstood the brief. 😂

A little website restock has happened… 💖

I’ve finally had a proper sort through my Glass by Fleur stock and added lots of lovely one-off pieces to the website – from little handmade fused glass cards and keepsakes right through to original framed artwork.

There are gifts starting from just £6.50, colourful glass hangers from £22.50, framed hearts from £20 and larger original framed pieces too.

And because so much of what I make is completely individual, many of these are one-offs – so the piece you see in the photograph is the actual piece you’ll receive. 🥰

I’ve included a little selection here, but there are plenty more waiting on the website.

Perfect for birthdays, thank-yous, Besties, new homes… and, dare I say it in August, Christmas! 🎄🙈

Believe it or not, some of you are already Christmas shopping – and I’m actually rather impressed! 😂 So if you like getting organised early, there are lots of ready-made pieces available now without having to wait for me to make them.

💍 A wedding gift made especially for them…

These days, lots of couples already have the toaster, the towels and everything else they need for their home, so understandably many wedding lists now ask for a contribution towards a honeymoon or something special.

But sometimes you still want to give them something to open. Something personal. And something they can keep. 💚

My fused glass wedding horseshoes are individually handmade and can be personalised with the couple’s names, wedding date and colours to suit them.

The newest one pictured was made for Sam & Ayla, who married on 22nd August, with fresh greens, white flowers and tiny glass details. 🤍💚

Each one is made from scratch in my little Glass by Fleur studio, so no two will ever be exactly alike.

As these are made especially to order, please allow up to 6 weeks before the wedding. If you’ve left it a little later, though, do ask – if I can squeeze it in, I will!

Saturday afternoon’s glassy gorgeousness! 💖

What a fabulous collection from our Saturday afternoon workshop on 8th August at Ditzy Rose Makery.

Lots of lovely returning faces joined by some new ones too, and once again I was completely blown away by the variety of ideas that appeared on the tables.

Flowers, a lighthouse, a puffin, a rainbow complete with three little dogs, a touch of Christmas, some fabulous abstract glass art — and an incredible tribute to the much-loved Sycamore Gap tree. ❤️

Every single piece is completely different and completely personal to its maker. I think these are going to look absolutely incredible in their new homes!

They’re all fired, framed and ready to be reunited with their creators. 💖

🌸 A little more kiln magic ready to go home! 🌸

This gorgeous collection comes from my Saturday morning workshop on 8th August at Ditzy Rose Makery — and what a lovely collection it turned out to be!

Lots of beautiful handkerchief tealights, from delicate wildflowers and gorgeous greens to bold splashes of colour — plus a couple of fabulous framed glass pictures in amongst them too. ❤️

I always love this bit… seeing everyone’s designs again after they’ve been through the kiln, and then watching the handkerchief pieces completely transform during their second firing.

They’re all finished and ready to collect from Ditzy Rose Makery. 🎉

✨ Same workshop. Same piece of glass. Seven VERY different results! ✨

These gorgeous handkerchief vases were created at my Friday morning workshop on 7th August at Ditzy Rose Makery — and just look at them now! 😍

Everyone started with the same blank canvas and then took it off in a completely different direction.

Sunflowers, wildflowers, seaside blues, beach huts, a lighthouse and glorious explosions of colour… followed by a little kiln magic and a second firing to create those fabulous handkerchief shapes.

I absolutely LOVE how different they all are! ❤️

And they’re now ready to collect from Ditzy Rose Makery! 🎉

✨ Well… I think we can safely say the ladies of Malpas Fabric Arts Group are a VERY creative bunch! ✨

I recently had the pleasure of running a fused glass workshop for Malpas Fabric Arts Group — and for most of these lovely ladies, it was their first time working with fused glass.

Just look at what they created! 😍

Wildflower meadows, buzzing bees, crashing waves, fish, a lighthouse, something wonderfully abstract… and one lady decided to go in a completely different direction and created a gorgeous little beach hut picture instead! 🏖️

And THAT is one of the things I love most about workshops. Everyone starts with the same blank glass and the same table full of glassy goodies, but no two finished pieces are ever remotely the same.

They’ve now all been fired, finished and dropped off to their lovely new homes — and I’m absolutely thrilled with how they turned out. ❤️

So rather than asking which is your favourite (because I think I may have worn that one out 😂), tell me this instead…

🌊 A little seaside workshop on Wednesday 5th August! 🏖️

Look what’s landing at Ditzy Rose Makery today! 😍

These gorgeous little beach hut creations have been through the kiln and are now ready to head home to their makers — and what a fabulously colourful bunch they are!

Beach huts, sunshine, sailing boats, seagulls… and even the odd runaway kite! ❤️💛💚💙

I absolutely love how everyone starts with the same project and somehow every single piece ends up with its own personality.

If one of these beauties belongs to you, they’ll be ready to collect from Ditzy. Nikki will be there Thursday 10.30am–12.30pm and all day Saturday. If you can’t make those times please check with Nikki before making a special trip.

Three new pieces. Three completely different vibes! 💙🌸⛵️

A few more new pieces have made their way onto my website this week… and I’m loving how completely different these three are!

🌸 Wildflower Garden – an explosion of colourful flowers and butterflies, with something different to discover whichever way you turn it.

💙 Ocean Blues – layers and layers of gorgeous turquoise, aqua, teal and deep blue glass. Add a little light and this one absolutely comes alive.

⛵️ Beach Huts by the Sea – a cheerful little framed seaside scene, complete with colourful beach huts, sailing boats and a tiny kite.

All handmade by me, all completely individual and now sitting alongside lots of other lovely glassy bits on my website.

Who needs a girls’ night out when you can have a girls’ night IN… and get glassy? 🥂✨

A couple of weeks ago my lovely friend Sally invited me over to “play glass” with her and some of her friends… and what a fabulous evening it turned out to be!

We created these gorgeous fused glass pieces, enjoyed some delicious food, had a little tipple (or two 🍷😉), laughed… a lot… and simply spent time in the best company.

It was relaxed, creative and such a hoot. 💕

Just look at what everyone made! Every single piece is completely different, and that’s exactly what I love most. No artistic experience needed – just a willingness to have a go and enjoy yourselves.

Huge thank you, Sally, for hosting such a lovely evening. 🥰
