Kitchen Sync in Teddington is now closed and soon the florist Gardenia of London will blossom in its place!
However watch this space for a new type of Kitchen Sync in the future.....!

So...it is finally over.....thank you all of you for your support over the last 14 years.
It is a sad goodbye from us - but please welcome Gardenia of London to 122 High Street. They will be a wonderful successor in the beautiful shop that is 122 High Street...it is a very special shop and we are all just caretakers! Please support them as you have supported us...... ###

OK...it has finally arrived........our final day at Kitchen Sync.

I cannot believe I am writing this after almost 15 years. Broad Street and then High Street...I have put absolutely everything into this and have had the most wonderful staff over the years to make Kitchen Sync such a special place. My very, very special thanks to..Selina Hough, Stephanie Poole and Louise Reber.

Also remembering some wonderful 'blasts from the past'.....Nuala Owens, Angela O'Donoghue, Charlotte Harrington, Jennie Rae Chuter, Karie Norrgren, Jaye Boston-Smith.

I also want to thank some of my wonderful suppliers....particularly Dexam, ICTC, Eddingtons... wonderful agents/reps - Ali Lawson, Paul Marchant, Tony Butler, Daran Hardy etc

And...of course, Christine Thomas for being a partner in crime!! (And my favourite 'seasonal staff... David Harries & Philip Brocklehurst!!) Not forgetting John Rae for all your help at the outset...never forgotten!

I also want to thank some wonderful customers...far too many .... I may not remember all your names - but I remember your faces...Thank you for supporting us .....I have loved every minute!

This sounds like an Oscar speech...ie Far too long!!!!

Please pop in if you are around tomorrow...we would love to say goodbye in person!

A SAD FAREWELL...
We are very sad to announce that, after 14 successful years, Kitchen Sync will be closing its doors for the last time at the end of March. The latest prospect of a substantial rent increase, combined with the need to commit to a protracted further term, means that we have reluctantly had to make this very sad and disappointing decision.

In recent years, we have managed to adapt, make compromises and find creative ways to deliver added value for our customers and our business.......unfortunately, on this occasion we have been unable to negotiate viable terms with our landlord.

I would like to thank those wonderful and loyal customers who have supported us during that time.

The reality is that many customers have changed their shopping habits over the last few years. We all now buy so much more online and the trend shows no sign of slowing, let alone stopping. I'd like to think that, by offering customers added value in store and a more enjoyable shopping experience, we could have met the challenge that the internet presents for all small retailers. Many of our most prominent suppliers now also sell, and discount, their products directly to consumers via their own websites. These suppliers are boosting their margins by cutting out, and killing off, their retail network and turning us into showrooms where our trained staff advise customers who then go away and buy online. All the time rents, rates and all other costs continue to rise and we just cannot match their prices.

So, I am losing a business I dearly love, and Teddington is losing its specialist cookshop. And, if you're one of the many customers who have come rushing in to Kitchen Sync saying, 'I've looked everywhere for a 'whatever' and you're my last hope', or 'Amazon has let me down. have you got a 'whatever' in stock, I'm desperate?'- you'll appreciate the problem, and the reasons that your cookshop has now disappeared.

Thank you SO MUCH to our wonderful and loyal customers, we've loved being your local cookshop! - Please keep supporting your local independent retailers or, sadly, it is inevitable that you will lose more of them and the unique charm of Teddington will be lost forever.......

Thank you to my wonderful, amazing team. You have done me and Teddington very proud.
