We offer two finishes – stain and wax. All of our stains are water based, odourless and environmentally friendly, then are treated with 3 coats of oil to ensure it is long lasting and incredibly durable. Our wax range is incredibly popular and is a fantastic option for our shelves, providing a depth of colour and warmth when the wax is worked into the wood. Our polishing team have researched to th

e ends of the earth to find the finest waxes to bring the timber into its absolute prime. Our designers work closely with our workshop on a daily basis, ensuring each and every item is executed as it was intended to be. Our creativity and passion for wood working always ensure that your happy Wood experience will indeed be – a happy one! Trying some Old English Oak on some unused Ikea worktop I’ve sanded back. It’s got a couple more sands in the top before it’s through. In the interest of upcycling I was really keen to try this out.

The stains are water based and easy to apply with a brush, video next!

Good being back working in the workshop rather than tidying mess up in there all the time!

Black Ebony floating shelf, custom order now on its way to its new home in the Scottish highlands!

The Black Ebony wood dye from has a beautiful transparency to it, allowing some of the wood tones to poke through for soft golden highlights.

It can also be double coated to dim down those golden tones quite dramatically.

We have a small IKEA table@in the workshop for packaging up smaller orders, it was looking a little tired….

Nothing a quick sand and refinish with Light Oak stain couldn’t solve!

As it needs to be really durable, we finished up with two top coats of Osmo Poly X

Good as new? It’s even better!
