Your bed is more than somewhere you sleep 💚

Here at Newport Beds, we’ve always believed that choosing a bed should be about much more than simply lying on a mattress for a few minutes and deciding whether it feels comfortable.

Your bed is a health tool!

It’s where your body rests, recovers and restores itself night after night and the right bed needs to work for you.

That belief is at the heart of my new book, Your Bed as a Health Tool, It Matters More Than You Think.

I wrote it after years of talking to people in the showroom about their sleep, their bodies, their beds and the things that can quietly affect how well they rest. It explores the relationship between our bed, sleep and wider well-being and includes personal audits to help people look at their own sleep environment, comfort, support and individual needs.

And really, that same thinking is inherent in what we do at Newport Beds.

We don’t believe there is one “best” mattress for everybody. We ask questions. We listen. We encourage people to try different options. We look beyond the bed itself and help each person think about what their body and sleep actually need.

It’s all part of our ‘Your Sleep Matters’ approach helping people make more informed choices about something they will spend around a third of their lives doing.

So although I’m rather pleased to finally be holding the finished book in my hands 😊, it also represents something much bigger:

A belief that a bed shouldn’t just be sold as a piece of furniture. It should be chosen with care.

And that is something we care very much about at Newport Beds. 💚

A Harrison Spinks Meadowfold British wool from the Adam Henson collection. A beautiful wool tufted, single sided (non turn) 6ft, Superking size, in a split tension, where one side is gentle for the sleeper who likes a softer feel & the other side is Medium for the sleeper who likes it slightly firmer. The perfect combination for those with 2 different sleeping styles!

It’s a beautiful hand made mattress with a sheep style ‘tic’ cloth design in a soft grey branding!

✨ Something special is coming to Newport Beds this autumn… ✨

Join us for Rest & Resonance, a truly unique sound-bath experience where you can lie back on the comfort of our showroom beds and immerse yourself in beautiful, restorative sound.

The afternoon will begin with a short talk from Allison Timmins, local author of ‘Your Sleep Matters’ and ‘Your Energy Matters’, exploring the connection between rest, sleep and our energy.

This will be followed by a deeply relaxing sound bath led by Leonor Close of Shropshire Sound Therapy using singing bowls and beautiful sound frequencies to invite the body and mind to slow down as we move into the winter months.
