It's been about 2 weeks since I started this needle punching project and I am almost finished! Pre - illness this probably would have taken me a day 😂
It's far from perfect but I'm pretty pleased with the result so far given that this is my first time at trying out this craft.

Not sure what I will do with it once it is completed. I could either hang it in my craft room or try and incorporate it into a larger project like a bag or something....🤔 What do you think? Let me know your ideas in the comments below 👇

6 years ago today my best friend Jemma sadly passed away. Every year on the anniversary and on her birthday I usually light a candle but this year I decided to create my own personalised flameless candle using my favourite photo of her and the best thing about this candle is that it will never burn down.

She was my biggest fan and was always pushing me to sell the things I made, I just never took her words seriously until unfortunately I couldn't hear them again.

Motley Jems exists because of Jemma. She is the inspiration behind it all and it's a lasting tribute to her memory - her signature even appears in my brand name! She is always in my thoughts and I especially hear her words in my head when I am creating something new.

So today I will light up this candle and remember the amazing person she was and all the many memories we shared together.

Jemma Storey, you were and always will be my hero and my 'Wifey' ❤️

New year = new craft!
I am using a ready-made kit to help me grasp the basic techniques and I can only manage half an hour before I have to rest (stupid Long Covid!) but it feels so good to be crafting again even if it is in a limited way! Look out 👀 for an update on the project next week!
