This modest extension was all about balance.

The property had once been a doctor’s clinic, so the client and I worked closely to reconfigure the layout into a comfortable home. It was important that the new addition didn’t overwhelm the garden, but instead created a strong connection to it.

The picture window frames the view and brings the garden into the heart of the house, a simple move that makes the space feel open, calm and connected.

A small change, but one that makes a big difference in how the home is lived in.

A recent visit to one of our completed projects, now gently settling into everyday life.

There’s something special about returning after the boxes have been unpacked and the space has started to take on the client’s personality.
In this case, a well-travelled collection of objects is beginning to find its place. layered with plants, books, and the quiet details of daily life.
We loved seeing how the exposed steel and timber flooring are already part of the story, now softened by how the home is being lived in.

We’re pleased to have secured planning permission for a modest but meaningful reconfiguration of this home, located in a conservation area.

The rear elevation didn’t reflect the character of the front, so we’ve worked to improve its appearance while respecting the existing architecture.

Inside, the layout will be reconfigured to make better use of the space, especially on the middle floor, where the kitchen opens out onto a new balcony offering a much-improved connection to the garden.

Small changes, considered carefully, can have a big impact on how a home works day to day.

We’re excited to take this one forward.

A calm, flexible space for modern family life.

This image shows part of a new interior we're designing for a young family, a space that brings together dining, working, and playing in a way that feels open and relaxed.

We’ve created a palette that feels calm but characterful, with soft neutrals and playful pops of colour to add warmth and character. The cafe-style window and built-in seat connect the space to the garden, creating a natural flow between indoors and out.

In the making.

Early studies for a thoughtful extension exploring façade options, materiality and how works might be phased over time.

At this stage, nothing is fixed. We're working closely with our client to understand not just what the space could be now, but how it might grow with them. It’s a process of adapting ideas, testing possibilities and shaping something that feels just right.

These design explorations are ongoing and with each iteration, we get closer to a solution that works for both now and the future.

This Victorian home needed to adapt to family life in a way that felt natural, not oversized. Rather than going for scale the focus was on a more considered approach creating a compact yet highly functional extension that integrates well with the existing architecture.
The curved form respects the character of the home and echoes the curved walls found inside, while also bringing a contemporary edge. By using traditional materials in a modern way, the design ensures the extension feels both new and in harmony with its surroundings.
Good design isn’t about being bigger, it's about being better. If you’re planning a project, we’d love to hear from you.
