Morning everyone 👋

I sure have got my steps in this week! Wandering round Decorex for two days on Monday/Tuesday, a visit to the Sanderson Design Group archives on Wednesday, and a visit to the Caravan and Motorhome Show yesterday🚶‍♀️

Today I will be catching up with admin and having a good sort out in my office 🧑‍🏫

Sophie Robinson is as lovely in real life as she is on the tv ☺️

Hi everyone 👋

A very early start for me to tomorrow as I'm off to London for two days to Decorex International, an annual interior design trade event ⏰

On Wednesday a visit to Voysey House, the Arts and Crafts home of Sanderson Design Group with whom Sophie Robinson designed her fabric and wallpaper collection with, where I'll be meeting Sophie and some fellow colour lovers.

On Thursday I have a day off, and I'll be catching up with admin and sorting out my office on Friday. See you all soon and have a good week 😊

Today is my day off and I'm looking forward to meeting two friends for a catch up over lunch and drinks who I haven't seen for a while.

I'm making use of my senior railcard again after turning 60 in January 😃

💚 GREEN-BLUE 💙

Green-Blue sits directly between green and blue on the colour wheel and it covers a wide spectrum regarding shades. I've picked out four very different ones as shown that will all give a different feeling.

From left to right clockwise:

Johnstone's Fresh Seafoam - A fresh, bright shade

Farrow & Ball Green Blue - A muted, calming shade

Dulux Teal Tension - A rich, deep shade

Little Greene Slipper - A vibrant, dramatic shade

🙂 WALLPAPER WEDNESDAY 🙂

Today's colour board features one of my favourite things, cats! As most of you know I have a cat myself, a black and white tuxedo 5 year old boy called Domino who is fiercely independent.

I love creating colour schemes for children's rooms as it's a great opportunity to have fun with colour. In this case, the wallpaper is the starting point so the rest of the scheme is based around it.

Wallpaper for all walls - Kitten Kaboodle in the peanut butter colourway by Ohpopsi at Wallpaper Direct.

Fabric for blind - iLiv rowing stripe in paprika at Just Fabrics.

🙂 TIP TUESDAY 🙂

Morning everyone, today we're going with a Farrow & Ball archive colour, Minster Green, an inviting deep green. But for whatever reason you may not want to use this brand another alternative is to use brands with similar colours as opposed to actually colour matching.

I've seen across various forums I belong to the pros and cons of colour matching, I can't personally comment though because I've never colour matched myself.

The Dulux Trade colour is very similar and I've seen them in real life, so if you fall in the cons category of colour matching this may be the answer if you love the Farrow & Ball colour palette.
Being an independent colour consultant I will always remain impartial.

Both paired with wallpapers with different price points in tonal colour schemes.

Today's colour board is a bold autumn one!

The palette features warm, intense and energising colours, as opposed to warm, rich and earthy. Are you a fan of this palette or do you prefer a more earthy palette?

WORLD SMILE DAY

Evening 👋

I've spent the last hour with a cuppa completing my work diary for the month, I have some lovely events coming up in amongst working on room schemes and sending out mini workshops in a box.

Even though I've been a colour consultant for almost 10 years now I'm still learning every day, I want to soak everything up like a sponge as I don't think we can ever stop learning.

Tomorrow I will be hearing all about the new paint colours that LIttle Greene have just launched and I'm looking forward to meeting Emma there, one of my friends from my design hub.

On the 12th and 13th I'll be going to Decorex with my design hub. It's a fab event for inspiration and to look for new fabric and wallpaper designs, along with talks from industry experts.

On the 14th I will be visiting Voysey House, the Arts and Crafts home of Sanderson Design Group with whom Sophie Robinson designed her fabric and wallpaper collection.

The archivist will bring out a selection of items from the archive and Sophie will share her story behind her Harlequin collection. Then a lovely lunch after with Sophie and fellow colour lovers.

Speaking of Sophie, I'm really looking forward to her webinar tonight titled "The Power of Colour"

🐸 Wallpaper Wednesday 🐸

Two weeks ago I posted a colour board I created for a downstairs loo which featured this wallpaper which was a new brand find for me. My sample turned up today and I absolutely love it, I think it’s so much fun and will definitely be a talking point.

When I’ve received the roller blind sample I ordered I’ll start looking at paint colours. Once I’ve chosen the ones that I think will best complement the scheme I will share it here and talk through my process and why I’ve chosen what I have.
