Harbo Sølvsten 1949 rosewood cabinet restored to original colour and grain by stripping the faded factory finish and cleaning and hand polishing — no stain. Gentle surface correction and polishing revived the wood’s natural depth and grain while preserving the original finish. DM for process details or commissions.

This Danish Riis Antonsen teak bureau had damaged drawer handles with parts snapped off including the desktop top leaf. As they were beyond repair they had to be replaced with hand made items using teak wood sourced from a similarly aged broken France & Sons dining chair giving a great colour and grain match. The rest of the piece was then stripped and refinished.

Aksel Kjersgaard No. 386 Refresh
A relatively simple but satisfying refurb on this small bedside chest. The top had a few stubborn dark water and heat rings that were carefully removed, and the rest of the cabinet had its original finish stripped back. Enquiries for this item via or will be soon available on the arc-furniture.com website.

Kurt Østervig Rosewood Tambour Drinks Cabinet — Restoration Complete

This beautiful mid‑century dry bar arrived with sun‑faded rosewood and tambour doors that had completely separated from their backing. The cabinet and tables were stripped and rosewood grain and colour re established and polished. The stains in the light wood interior were removed and interior refinished along with the solid rosewood bottle holders. The tambours were then stripped cleaned re‑aligned and re‑bonded to their backing so they glide smoothly once again.

Some lovely person had hand painted this teak tambour sideboard in black giving it a whole new/interesting look and it also sticking each tambour used in the doors next to one another so when somebody tried to pull the doors apart it tore both cloths used for mounting the tambours. This resulted in both doors having to be completely refurbished including two new mounting cloths. The owner of the cabinet is unsure of the designer/maker especially as the leg frame display made in Denmark while the sideboard itself shows made in Sweden. Let know if you have any info - it’ll be gratefully appreciated. Maybe it’s the oak wood strip used for the tambour door surround originating from Sweden? Btw both components were definitely manufactured at the same time.

A great restoration of a Gordon Russell Helix sideboard, it wasn’t in the best condition having been used as a scratching post by a cat and requiring a new handle. It was inherited by the current owners and will now be passed on to the next generation of the family.
