The colour pallets of beautiful, rustic, rural France are varied and inspiring. Every house with a different style and painted shutter colour choice to suit - allowing the owner to both accentuate the character of their home whilst expressing their own for all to see.

Villages and towns an array of character and painted colour, all brought to life by contrasting flowers which make the shutter colours pop and add an extra, naturally beautiful dimension to the whole picture, conjuring the feel that you are walking through a romantic painted scene.

The striking hot pink of the roses against the sky blue of these shutters compliment the natural stone wall and eminate the scene of a French country landscape on a warm, balmy summer's day.

Nothing says summer more than a beautiful, freshly cut, seasonal bouquet! 💐 🌻 ❤️

Flowers are the best way to change things up and add a fresh, zesty shot of life into your interior / exterior decor.

This specific bouquet is very special in the fact they were gifted to me by my lovely friend for my recent milestone birthday (go ahead and guess if you like, but do so at your own peril! 😉🫣), just a few days prior to us leaving for our annual summer visit to our second home, France 🇫🇷 ❤️

I was not leaving these babies behind, so they hitched a ride with us! And now here they, in all their glory, back in their native country, brightening up our family holiday dining, Al fresco style! 🌻 🌞

this weekend marks the long-awaited and much celebrated 'Sheepfair', which happens every leap year in my village. I will be sure to fill you in on all the fun and shenanigans (it's quite an event!)
🐏🐏🐏🎡 ❤️

Our fluffy sheep friends have influenced our interiors in a big way! They play a HUGE part in warming our homes and are the biggest star of natural / organic soft furnishings - offering us the widest array of beautiful, eco-friendly, luxuriously soft and cozy textiles of all sorts of colours and textures, not only to show off, but to cozy up in and keep warm and snug! 🤗

I mean - where would we be without sheep???!!! 🐏🤷🏻‍♀️

There are so many fun and quirky sheep-related prints and products out there in the interiors market - from wallpapers & bedding sets, to lamps and lighting design, rugs & cushions...

But, did you know that decorative life-sized sheep in the home is actually quite the fashion statement and is a sign of wealth & status?

Yes! That's right! Thanks to François-Xavier Lalanne, who began crafting his iconic 'Moutons de Laine'in 1965, where they immediately attracted international attention....

These sheep have become widely sought-after collectables and, with them now only being available at auction, can fetch anything from £3500 - £500,000!
Last year, a trio of bronze Lalanne sheep from the collection of Lalanne's daughter, Marie, sold for $6.3m including fees at Christie's New York, in a $77m sale that broke the auction house's design record. 😱🤑🐏💰

Sooooo, let's take some time to appreciate and be grateful for our fabulous sheep this weekend! Without them, we'd be very cold - that's for sure!🐏🩷

I must admit, I have rather fallen in love with Lalanne's sheep sculptures! I may have to keep a look out for a similar alternative however, as I don't have a spare £500,000 knocking around right now!

Days like today affect us all in our own individual ways. Whatever your emotional connection to today, it is most certainly a day for celebrating. As Whatever path it took for us to be here, we ARE here! So, on this day, make sure you take some time to celebrate, not only the people who are just totally 'Top' to you, but YOU yourself and the beautiful, strong person you are! ❤️
