🌈 Happy Pride Month 🌈
To my LGBTQIA+ community and our fabulous allies,
Happy Pride Month. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
This month is about love, visibility, acceptance, community, and celebrating the freedom to be exactly who we are. But Pride is also about remembering why it exists.
Pride began as a protest. It was born from courage, resistance, and the refusal to stay silent in the face of discrimination. The rights many LGBTQIA+ people have today were fought for by generations who stood up and demanded equality, dignity, and respect.
As we celebrate, we must also honour those we lost during the HIV/AIDS crisis of the 1980s and 1990s.
We remember the lives cut short, the families and friends left grieving, and the activists, healthcare workers, and community members who fought tirelessly against fear, stigma, and government inaction.
Their strength and resilience helped shape the world we live in today.
Pride is also about recognising that the fight is far from over.
Our trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse siblings continue to face disproportionate levels of discrimination, hostility, misinformation, and barriers to healthcare and safety. Pride means standing together and ensuring that every member of our community feels seen, protected, respected, and loved.
So whether you’re marching in a parade, supporting a friend, learning more about LGBTQIA+ history, waving a flag, or simply living your truth every day — know that you are part of something beautiful.
To every le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, q***r, intersex, asexual person, and every ally who stands beside us:

Thank you for choosing kindness over ignorance.
Thank you for helping create a world where people can live openly, safely, and proudly as themselves.
