I am happy to take on domestic and commercial commissions of any size, be it traditional or contemporary. Every project is different, but I can either work with your designs or with very rough ideas where I can offer more design input.

A bit of work in progress. A cabinet in cherry - bit different as the cherry comes from a tree that grew in the client’s garden.
Now oiling which is bringing a nice warm tone to the cherry.

Recently completed. An open cabinet in ash. I really like using ash, always has nice characterful grain.

Just completed this oak dining table. It is a nice, elegant design based on an idea from the client. I mocked up the design in mdf a few weeks ago but it’s looking good in some lovely quarter sawn oak supplied by realwoodstudios
Thinking the leg design could work well on a coffee table - watch this space!

Some dates for the diary;

Scottish Furniture Makers Association will be holding another exhibition at Dalkeith Palace 12th-14th June. This has been a great venue for the last two years and looking forward to taking part again.

The Peebles Wood Market is scheduled for 24th & 25th October. After a few years when it didn’t run, this event is really getting back up to speed. Hoping to take part again.

The Biggar Little Festival arts trail is on the same weekend. I haven’t taken part in this in recent years but it is always a fantastic collection of artists exhibiting at their own studios.

A bit of prototyping for a 4 seat dining table. Pleased with how the MDF version is looking and have some very nice quarter sawn oak to make the ‘real’ version.

Most pieces I make are commissioned but I made the crossover coffee table for an exhibition many years ago and have just sold it. I love the leg design and have used it several times - firstly on a side table, then this with an oval top and more recently on several dining tables including our own.
Delighted to see the table in its new home but will have to make another!

Just delivered! Console table in some nice, characterful elm. It is the latest variant of the treetop design with some nice, curvy legs.
