I’m really excited to be hosting another Creative & Curious evening this autumn.

On Friday 23 October, I’ll be at The Leys in Witney for a relaxed, beginner-friendly autumn watercolour evening.

We’ll spend a couple of hours slowing down and painting together, as I guide you step by step through creating your own autumn-inspired watercolour piece. You don’t need any previous experience, and all the materials you’ll need are included.

This isn’t about painting something perfectly. It’s about making a little time for yourself, trying something creative and enjoying the process.

🍂 Friday 23 October, 6.30–8.30pm
🍂 The Leys, Witney
🍂 £29, including all materials
🍂 Beginner-friendly

Food and drinks will also be available to buy from the café during the evening.

Places are limited, so if you fancy a cosy autumn evening of painting and creativity, you can book your place here:

I’d love to see you there.

Trying to find time for creativity when life already feels full?

The last few weeks have brought new routines, returning to work and plenty to navigate as I try to make space for motherhood, work and my art.

I’m learning that we don’t have to wait until everything feels perfectly balanced before we begin. Sometimes we simply have to show up before we feel ready.

One small step I’ve taken is beginning to organise my first Creative & Curious watercolour workshop in Witney: a relaxed evening for complete beginners to switch off, try something creative and enjoy the little details of autumn. 🍂🎨

If you’re local and would like the details when booking opens, comment WORKSHOP below.

And if life feels full for you too, what’s one small thing you’d like to make space for?

A little life update 🌿

I’ve been quieter here for the past few days because we’ve been away, and honestly, I’ve been very tired too.

Behind the scenes, I’m still slowly bringing the very first Creative & Curious Mail Club envelope together. It isn’t quite finished yet, and I’m deliberately keeping most of it hidden because I want opening it to feel like a genuine surprise.

This little club is about noticing more, making space for curiosity and receiving something thoughtful through the post each month. I’m so excited to send the first envelopes out, even if I’m putting them together more slowly than I imagined.

Sometimes creative dreams have to grow around real life, tired days and family adventures. They still count. 🤍

The founding places are open if you would like a little illustrated happy post of your own each month. You’ll find the link in my bio.

I spotted a sunflower field today and it reminded me of this painting I made a few weeks ago.

Today’s sunflowers seemed smaller than usual, perhaps because of the heat we’ve had this summer, but there was still something hopeful about seeing all that yellow beside the road.

One of the things I love about drawing is that it changes what I notice afterwards. Once I’ve taken the time to paint something, I seem to find echoes of it everywhere.

Perhaps staying curious isn’t always about discovering something completely new. Sometimes it’s about noticing something familiar with fresh eyes.

What has made you stop and look recently?

I saw a photograph of bees among these soft purple flowers on a friend’s feed, and the image stayed with me.

After a few days away from my sketchbook, it felt like the right place to begin again. Not an elaborate comeback. Just paint, paper and an image I didn’t want to forget.

Sometimes the things that linger are the things asking to be drawn.

What image has stayed in your head lately?

A little breakfast doodling to ease myself back into my sketchbook.

Nothing polished or planned. Just tiny drawings, a few quiet minutes and the reminder that creativity doesn’t always need to become a finished piece. I need to take the pressure off after a few days away from said sketchbook.

Now, what are you choosing: avocado, pastries or the full breakfast?

Maybe creativity gets easier when we stop expecting everything we make to be good.

I’ve been rebuilding my creative practice through regular sketchbook drawing and watercolour painting, and I’m learning to value the experimenting, unfinished pages and little mistakes just as much as the pieces I love.

When did you last make something purely because you enjoyed it?
