Hello! Thought it has been far too long since I have introduced /reintroduced myself.
I’m Faye maker and owner of Ether, Silver & Home. I’m based in South Wales. I have been woodturning for 15 years but working in the creative field since my college days.
I mainly work with native and reclaimed tropical woods trying to keep that aspect of the business as sustainable as possible. I love working with collectors and clients who have weird and wonderful wood for projects. I also produce small batch textiles for the home, using dead stock and reclaimed fabrics.
I’m inspired by natural forms colours and textures and recently been drawn to the simple and quiets forms used in Japanese ceramics and the decorative seed like shapes used in Indian and Persian art.
Bit about my background, I along side my woodworking I have studied and practice photography, textiles and interior design. I’ve moved around the UK, living in each part. Wales is home but I love traveling and going back to places I’ve lived and visited.
Worked a fair few different jobs and careers before starting Ether, Silver & Home in 2018. I love almost all forms of visual arts, but you are more likely to find me in a gallery before a Westend show.
