⭐️MINI MOOD BOARD MONDAY⭐️:
Beyond the Palette: how a repeated motif, mixed textures and layered frames bring depth to a scheme
A question we often get asked is: “how do you make a scheme feel so cohesive?”
This snapshot shows the thought process behind a design.
In this room we began by adding dimension to the walls: a rich green, panelling to anchor the media wall, and built-in shelves to add depth and interest.
Throughout the scheme we’ve echoed a floral motif, in the artwork and in the block-printed cushion, tassel on the throw; which makes the space feel as one. The timber repeats too, in the picture frame, the chair legs and the side table.
In the soft furnishings we’ve used a printed cotton cushion, a velvet cushion and a bobbled cushion, alongside a knitted throw. That’s four different textiles before we’ve even counted the other furniture!
We often see a single pop of vibrant colour added to a neutral space to bring interest, but it can actually make a room feel flat. All designs should feel like colour, texture and layers are woven through the scheme rather than dropped in☺️
