There's one thing in this kit that isn't natural. Here's why.
The sink tidy is recycled plastic. Everything else in the kit is bamboo, loofah, coir, agave or cellulose, and we hold a firm line on no plastic in washing-up tools. So why this?
Because I looked, properly, and I couldn't find a bamboo or natural sink tidy that was good enough. They warp. They hold water. They fall apart in a year. Selling you one so the photo looked consistent would have been dishonest.
And when you count it honestly, recycled plastic isn't the compromise it looks like. A bamboo caddy needs harvesting, washing, cutting, moulding and shipping halfway round the world. This one is plastic that already exists, sorted, pelletised and moulded in the UK.
Not everything has to be bamboo. Sometimes the better choice is keeping material we've already made in circulation, and choosing something that lasts.
It also happens to be the thing that keeps your brushes dry, which is what makes them last.
