Playing with my sheep’s fleece. The first thing I have ever made from their amazing wool. It’s a little bowl type thing. Called ‘sheep in the spring’. It makes me smile!

An experiment with combining a piece of wood with coil pot principles to create a little tray. It’s a bit rustic. I just used the fibres I had to hand and they weren’t ideal. But I think I might have started myself on an offshoot from wooden boards! I have some rushes growing at my field that could be a great source of weaving material.

Heading off to Tiverton on Thursday to take up a shelf space at Devon and Somerset Craft Collective. It should look a bit like my mock up. I do love making these boards but trying to figure out some way to sell them is tough. I’m not sure it’s for me!!

Here is my horse head carving as a wall mounted coat hook sort of thing. I think he/she is just beautiful!

I started carving this horse head quite a while ago and just recently finished it. It became a sort of ‘sketch’ with marks made in the scorched and blackened wood. I’m really pleased with the result. I never know how I manage to create these things but they make me very happy!

A few unfinished boards. Two London Plane wood boards. I’ve never used before London Plane before it’s nice. And three little boards of an unknown hardwood that is very pretty.

I’ve been neglecting my into the wood page post Christmas so apologies to my many, many followers! I became a little distracted by a seeming urgent need to clear out all the kitchen cupboards and deep clean more or less everything. Probably a distraction from other stuff because of the relentless grey skies and unremitting rain. In the process I cobbled together this little wooden unit to sit at the end of a workstation. It’s a bit on the rustic side but I like it!!
