The final stages of assembly 😊

The last ever headphone stand in this design is heading out of the workshop very soon. It’s a somber moment to realise that the incredible company which made the leather pieces for these stands was over 140 years old before they ceased to exist.

Small details, cut slowly.

A chamfer forming on oak, followed by the final engraving — simple steps, but the ones that define the finished piece.

Everything is designed and made in-house, one pass at a time.

There’s something special about a hand plane on oak.

Whenever possible we avoid sanding and instead plane the wood to a natural sheen. It leaves a cleaner surface, keeps the grain crisp, and honestly… it’s far more satisfying.

The best part? Nothing goes to waste. The shavings you see here are often used as protective packaging in our orders.

A little slower, perhaps. But worth it.

This four ink pot holder had a small blemish, so I offered it freely on Stories.
Not many takers… until Emily asked if it was still available.

While we were chatting, I included two other oak pieces with natural knots — and finally tried something I’d been wanting to explore for a while: filling those imperfections with real brass.

They turned out beautifully.
I hope Emily enjoys them as much as I enjoyed making them. ✨
