A little reintroduction for those of you who are new here...

Hi, I’m Charlotte, founder and lead interior designer behind CHL Interiors.

We’re based in Cheshire, but we work on residential projects across the UK, creating homes that are timeless, considered and tailored to the people who live in them.

With so much happening behind the scenes lately, from client presentations and site visits to sourcing, detailed design work and installations… I thought I’d interrupt the pretty photos on our feed to put a face to the name.

CHL Interiors was born from a lifelong love of design and a passion for creating homes that are not only beautiful, but feel truly personal to the people who live in them. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for as long as I can remember.

Truthfully, the design has always been the easy part. It’s where I feel most at home. Building a business has been a completely different journey, one that’s challenged me, taught me so much, and continues to push me every day. While I’m still learning as I grow, I genuinely love the process and feel incredibly grateful that I get to do what I love every single day.

At the heart of everything I do is a commitment to creating the very best outcome for every client and every home. I care deeply about the details, about the experience, and about making sure each project is one I’m proud to put my name to.
I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who’s chosen to follow along, whether you’ve been here from the beginning or have only just found us.

I’d also love to hear from you. Is there anything you’d like to see more of? More behind-the-scenes content, design tips, project updates or a glimpse into the day-to-day of running an interior design studio? Let me know in the comments or send me a message, I always love hearing from you!

Bespoke upholstery is one of the details that transforms a house into a home that feels entirely your own

Rather than using for off-the-shelf pieces, we carefully specify fabrics, trims and finishes that are tailored to your scheme, ensuring every element feels intentional and perfectly connected. It’s these considered details that create interiors with depth, personality and a truly bespoke feel.

Behind every beautiful bathroom is hundreds of considered decisions…

Materiality is everything in a space that has to work hard and feel considered. Every finish is carefully selected not only for its aesthetic, but for its durability, practicality and how it complements every other element in the room.

From comparing brassware finishes across multiple suppliers to deciding between frosted and clear fluted glass, many of the design decisions happen long before our clients ever see a finished scheme. It’s these details and technical considerations that create spaces which feel cohesive and beautifully resolved.

The pretty pictures are only ever the final chapter✨

Happy Friday… I hope everyone’s survived the heat this week!❤️‍🔥

Taking a moment to reflect on one of my favourite kitchen designs from our Rosewood Manor project. A truly bespoke space, designed to feel as beautifully considered as it is functional.

Thought I’d share a glimpse behind the scenes with some of the rendered design elevations. Every finish, material and bespoke joinery element is carefully considered long before it reaches site… and this stage is where the vision really starts to take shape✨

Where others see a building site, we see the finished vision đź’«

A bespoke kitchen, layered architectural detailing, and an elegant open-plan layout designed for modern family living. Watching our 3D model begin to align with reality is one of the most rewarding parts of the design journey.

Every project involves careful planning, countless decisions, and a fair amount of trust in the process. It’s these early stages that lay the foundation for something truly special.

The vision is taking shape quickly… stay tuned🤍

A glimpse into the proposed powder room design for our Belgrave project. One of my favourites in a series of rooms we presented to our clients earlier this week.

Layered with rich textures, soft neutrals, fluted detailing and elegant stone, this scheme balances timeless sophistication with contemporary luxury.

We're delighted that the presentation was so well received and look forward to bringing this beautiful space to life.

Styling with coffee table books… A few snippets of styling from recent projects.

Coffee table books are one of the most versatile styling tools you can use throughout your home. Beyond their obvious visual appeal, they help create layers, introduce colour and texture, and provide the perfect foundation for displaying decorative objects.

I often use books to add height to pieces that would otherwise feel lost, anchor a collection of smaller accessories, or bring balance to a shelf, console, bedside table or coffee table. They create structure within a vignette and help styling feel intentional rather than simply arranged.

The best collections are curated over time. I love mixing contemporary design books with vintage finds, and whenever possible incorporating books that are meaningful to the homeowner. These personal touches add depth and tell a story, making a space feel considered and lived in.

What’s your favourite coffee table book at the moment?
