Bird and Button

Bird and Button I make upcycled tin jewellery and wrapped rocks (or zen stones).

I'm gradually moving away from lampshades, but I still have loads of lovely fabrics, so if you'd like me to make you something, get in touch

Yes, yes, I know that I don't post much. I'm really terrible at this stuff but I aim to do better, I promise!

I've currently got a whole load of my upcycled tin earrings for sale in a lovely gallery in West Worthing, along with a selection of wrapped rocks.

I'm working on some more earrings to drop in to the gallery and will post images here when I finish each pair, in the meantime, back to the workshop! 😘

P.S. if you'd like to pop in to see my rocks and earrings in the flesh, (and other gorgeous creations from local artists and makers), pop in to West End Gallery, 87 Rowlands Rd, Worthing BN11 3JX

She’s a beauty! I’m really enjoying seeing the various blossoms and magnolias in and around Worthing as spring finally starts to pop her head above the parapet of winter. This one’s in Broadwater 💜🩷

This may look like a very boring image of a piece of tin. In fact, it’s actually TWO pieces of tin connected by a rivet. Stay with me.
Two years ago (possibly more) I followed a tutorial given by the clever and talented , one of the few people I know of that make jewellery from tin.
I’ve no idea what has taken me so long, though I’m definitely a world class procrastinator, HOWEVER, I’ve finally done it - I MADE MY FIRST RIVET! 🥳🍾🎉🎊🎈

My first attempt at a mizuhiki triangle knot, which signifies ‘safe travels’. Pop the rock in your bag or your pocket or leave it by your door so that you can touch it as you leave your house before a journey to help protect you out in the world ☺️
This one is available from and I’ll be making more very soon.
Stay safe!

Tried something a little different today. I used waxed cotton cord and did a spot of weaving on this spotty rock. I quite like the results but I can’t help thinking that it needs something in the centre as a focus point
