HandMade by Jo

HandMade by Jo I started making pottery as a positive, mindfulness hobby, after firstly loosing my dog Daisy and then my Dad. My hobby became my business in April 2026.

My aim is to create unique, quirky, and affordable but practical quality pottery for everyone!

I am absolutely thrilled, excited and almost beyond words.... (well nearly!!!) to be a CHOSEN EXHIBITOR for the FIRST ever Chester Ceramics Fair.

I launched HandMade by Jo in April 2026 - so very, very new on the scene, after working 30+ years in the Charity sector, I've taken a massive career change.

However I felt that if I didn't take the chance I would always regret it - and life should be about taking as many positive opportunities as possible!

There is something incredibly therapeutic about sitting at the wheel, getting covered in clay and creating something with your own hands. And yes, sometimes the pot has other ideas — but that's all part of the fun!

It has helped me through some really difficult times too — including losing my beloved Daisy dog and my Dad within a relatively short space of time, as well as navigating the joys (and I use that word VERY loosely!) of the menopause.

Everything I make is handcrafted here in North Wales, with the aim of creating pottery that is: Bright, Funky, Practical, Affordable and Made with love. Because everything is handmade, every piece is unique. You won't find two things that look exactly the same — and that's the beauty of handmade pottery.

I am incredibly proud of how far I've come, especially considering I never thought of myself as creative or artistic. I want you to love the things I make as much as I enjoy making them — and every piece is made from the heart.

Thank you to Chester Ceramics Fair, Ride the Wave, Folly & Flair, and all my friends and followers for believing in me!!!!

See you on 15th November at the Storyhouse, Chester!
