Rugs brighten up a room and give warmth and a sense of coziness to your space.

Advice: Colorful rugs work best in rooms with neutral tones (light walls, light furniture and decor) while rugs with neutral tones or a single color work best with rooms with a lot of color and pattern. 🌈

The client bought this at a market in Trabzon, Turkey. She chose it because of the geometric shapes which reminded her of the Islamic art that she was studying that semester. πŸ•Œ

"Living overseas means we have the benefit of traveling all over, but usually as just backpack travelers I don’t have room to bring back anything big.
So when I knew we were going to be traveling via bus and just over the border from Georgia I knew I wanted to bring back something special. I didn’t have to think about the size or shape!

Plus, I often bring back stuff for my kitchen because it’s useful and I am not really a fan of kitschy knick knack things. If it’s pretty and useful and can be incorporated in our daily lives (rather then sitting on a shelf collecting dust) then that is the kind of souvenir for me." πŸ™Œ

This rental house in Mtskheta had this awesome Georgian style balcony upstairs with a phenomenal view of the Jvari Monastery in the distance, the nearby mountains and the cobble stone walking street right below. β›°
This space is the selling point for the house! It’s really extra special.

The client found a local rug on the pedestrian street nearby that grounded the space and once I added plants and a small throw, the space felt complete!

Pro Tip: Never underestimate the power of plants! πŸŽ‹

The client wanted to utilize this outdoor space as their main area for hosting and enjoying themselves.

So we maximized the seating with a small couch, two accent chairs and a couple of side tables to catch people's drinks (and hold tasty treats!).

The goal was to make it cozy, inviting and functional.
I think we achieved that! πŸ€—

The balcony furniture is from JYSK Georgia and we were able to get everything at 40% off as part of their yearly end of summer sale! ✨

This one was purchased from Mysa and the small accessories to go with it were found at αƒ’αƒαƒ αƒ’αƒ˜αƒ - Gorgia.

Georgia might not have an IKEA, but it does have a Mysa that stocks their best sellers! πŸ˜ƒ

Sometimes you need to get creative and think outside the box to achieve your goal! πŸ’­

The goal was to have a large working space for painting. We contemplated a second hand desk, but with the shape of the room and the slanted ceiling we needed something that didn’t take up a huge amount of space... πŸ€” The solution - a DIY long narrow desk the length of the wall!

I found an awesome thick piece of wood from Bricorama and layed it over 2 white IKEA’s Alex drawer units from Mysa which provided good storage for additonal art supplies! πŸ™Œ

This loft area was the perfect place to create a warm and welcoming art room that mom and daughter were looking for. 🎨

To style the space we used red chairs that were reposed from the dining room and paired them with a rug the client already owned.

A lamp for additional lighting and quirky knickknacks brought in a personal and fun decor element. πŸ–Œ
