I was selected to change the renewable energy sector of Ghana!
I was selected to pitch my company LivingFire Company Limited at the 3rd Ghana-EU Business Forum which hosted the President of Ghana H.E John Dramani Mahama, Irchad Ramiandrasoa Razaaly, Antoine Gouzee de Harven held on May 20–21 at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra. This year's theme, “Deepening Ghana-EU Cooperation on Trade and Investment in Non-Traditional Value Chains under the EU Global Gateway Strategy”, provided a platform for innovators and industry leaders to collaborate on sustainable solutions .
During the Renewable Energy Sector Opportunities session, I presented our innovative charcoal briquettes made from waste coconut husks. This eco-friendly alternative cooking fuel not only addresses waste management but also offers a sustainable energy solution for communities.
My journey has been supported by incredible partners, including the Ghana Climate Innovation Centre (GCIC), Ashesi University, GIZ Ghana, and many others. With their backing, we secured investments to scale up production using advanced machinery. We are now poised to expand our reach, with plans to increase exports to the European market in Q2 2025.
A heartfelt thank you to the European Union in Ghana Delegation, the Ministry of Finance, Ghana, the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Greater Accra Regional Office, the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, EUROCHAM Malaysia, the Association of Ghana Industries Accra, and the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry for organizing this impactful forum. Happy to have my brother Kekeli Yaw Dorkenoo and various stakeholders in the audience.
Organizations present included Jospong Group of Companies, Blue Skies, OmniBank Ghana, and many more.
Let us continue to drive sustainable innovation and strengthen Ghana-EU partnerships!
