In hydroponic systems, the role of stickers is very simple:

They are mainly used to block light from reaching the damp grow sponge and nutrient solution, helping reduce the growth of algae and mold.

They also help maintain moisture during the early germination stage, allowing seeds to sprout more steadily.

In most cases, there is no need to remove the stickers manually. As the plant grows, it will naturally push through and lift the sticker, or the sticker will come off on its own.
