Learning the System Changed the Experiment 🌱

“For a while, I’ve been focusing mainly on my experiments and getting plants to thrive my way. A lot of my failures were my own doing, but I noticed I wasn’t learning the system.
-
I started with the basics—studying the Max first and remembering my excitement when germinating plants from seed, especially growing houseplants in it.
-
Once I understood how the system functions, I noticed my plants could adapt and thrive with my highly concentrated, deadly formulas. 🤣 I had a vision of what I wanted to create, but not taking the time to fully understand the technology was one reason many of my experiments failed.

This one is a complete success so far.

Keep chives close to the kitchen and cut a few leaves when a meal needs them. Add them to eggs, potatoes, soups, salads, or whatever you are making.

Regular trimming encourages new growth. Cut the leaves just above the base, then give the plant time to grow again. ✂️

Lunch only needs a few leaves, so there’s no need to harvest the whole plant.

Pick the larger leaves from the outside and leave the center untouched. Give it time to grow new leaves before picking again.

Cooler fall temperatures can also slow bolting and help extend your harvest. Take what you need today, and let the rest keep growing. 🥗

As they grow, their roots may become tangled. If you want to separate them, gently loosen the roots in water and keep as many healthy roots as possible. Some root damage is normal and usually will not stop a healthy plant from growing.

If you only need one plant, cutting the extras at the base is often the safer choice because it avoids disturbing the roots.

Lavender can grow indoors without soil when you choose a suitable variety and provide plenty of oxygen around the roots.

Keep the plant under strong light, prune it regularly, and make sure there is good airflow around the leaves. For the best fragrance, harvest lavender in the morning when the buds have developed color but have not fully opened. 💜
