花知識 —

當染井吉野的花瓣隨風飄落，春天還沒有結束。接力登場的，是更加華麗的八重櫻。

八重櫻的「八重」，指的是層層重疊的花瓣。相比五瓣單瓣的染井吉野，它的花朵更加豐盈、圓潤，如小小的花球般盛開，顏色亦偏向柔粉至濃粉，帶著一份溫柔而華麗的氣息。

它的花期，通常在染井吉野之後，當人們以為櫻花季已經結束時，八重櫻悄悄把春天延續下去。

你會發現，八重櫻多是花葉同時生長，嫩綠或帶銅色的新葉，襯托著層層花瓣，多了一份沉穩與成熟的美感。

As the petals of Somei Yoshino drift away in the breeze, spring is not yet over. Stepping gracefully into the scene is a more opulent beauty, the Yaezakura.

The “yae” in Yaezakura refers to its layers upon layers of petals. Compared to the simple five-petaled blossoms of Somei Yoshino, its flowers are fuller and rounder, blooming like delicate pom-poms, with hues ranging from soft blush to deeper pink, carrying both gentleness and elegance.

Its blooming season usually comes after the Somei Yoshino, just when people begin to think that cherry blossom season has ended, Yaezakura quietly extends the beauty of spring.

You may notice that Yaezakura often blooms alongside its leaves. Fresh green or bronze-tinted foliage frames the layered petals, adding a sense of calm, depth, and mature beauty.

花の豆知識一

ソメイヨシノの花びらが風に舞い散る頃、春はまだ終わりではありません。そのあとを優雅に彩るのは、より華やかな存在——八重桜です。

「八重」とは、幾重にも重なる花びらのこと。五枚の一重の花を咲かせるソメイヨシノに比べ、八重桜の花はよりふんわりと丸く、小さな花毬のように咲き誇ります。色合いも淡いピンクから濃いピンクまで、やさしさの中に華やかさを感じさせます。

その開花は通常、ソメイヨシノのあと。桜の季節が終わったと思われる頃、八重桜は静かに春をつなぎます。

また、八重桜は花と葉が同時に出ることが多く、若葉の緑や銅色の葉が花びらを引き立て、落ち着きと深みのある美しさを添えています。

春天，是櫻花盛開的季節。

在日本街頭最常見的，便是淡雅動人的染井吉野櫻。它的花朵五瓣單瓣、淡粉近白，花心微微帶粉，而且多為先花後葉，整棵樹如輕柔的粉白雲霧，在藍天下格外清新。

櫻花的花期短暫，通常只有一至兩星期，從盛開到飄落，彷彿一場溫柔的相遇。

在日本文化中，櫻花象徵著生命的無常與當下的珍貴。或許，正因短暫，才更值得珍惜。

Spring is the season when cherry blossoms come into full bloom.

The most commonly seen along the streets of Japan is the graceful and delicate Somei Yoshino. Its blossoms have five simple petals, pale pink fading into near white, with a gentle blush at the center. They typically bloom before the leaves emerge, so the entire tree appears like a soft cloud of pink and white, especially refreshing against the blue sky.

The blooming period of cherry blossoms is fleeting, usually lasting only one to two weeks. From full bloom to falling petals, it feels like a gentle, fleeting encounter.

In Japanese culture, cherry blossoms symbolize the transience of life and the preciousness of the present moment. Perhaps it is precisely because they are so short-lived that they are all the more worth cherishing.

春は、桜が咲き誇る季節です。

今次為自己的另一半製作碩士畢業花束，意義重大。田園色系的花朵，配以酒紅色包裝，表達祝福與愛的同時，也代表對未來的憧憬與展望。

Spring is the season of graduation in Japan.

This time, I created a master’s graduation bouquet for my beloved, a piece filled with special meaning. Soft blooms in gentle, pastoral tones are wrapped in deep burgundy paper, expressing both heartfelt congratulations and love, while also symbolizing hopes and dreams for the future.

春は、日本では卒業の季節です。

今回は、パートナーの修士課程の卒業を祝う花束を自分の手で作りました。特別な想いを込めた花束です。田園を思わせるやさしい色合いの花々を、深いワインレッドのラッピングで包み、祝福と愛を表すとともに、これからの未来への希望と期待を込めました。

花知識 —

最近走在日本的街上，不時聞到陣陣桂花香，滿有秋天的氣息。

中文口語𥚃的桂花，日本人稱其為「金木樨」。當然，這只是一個統稱。不同顏色的花朵，細分之下，其名稱亦略有分別，暫此從略。

金木犀氣味濃鬱且甜美芬芳，令人印象深刻，但花期短暫，因此被視為初戀之花。而名稱中的「犀」來自「犀牛」，是因為木樨的樹皮就像犀牛的皮膚而得名。

在日本，金木犀廣受喜愛。而據說，金木樨花香更具有放鬆作用。不少護膚品、日用品商家都會推出季節限定的相關產品，讓顧客把香氣帶進家中，延續這份秋天專屬的氣息。

我這個金木犀的忠實粉絲，被這甜美獨特的香氣深深吸引着。這一刻，我面上敷着日本的金木犀面膜，口中呷著從台灣帶來的桂花烏龍茶，腦海中想念着香港酒樓的杞子桂花糕。

Lately, as I walk through the streets of Japan, I am often greeted by the gentle fragrance of osmanthus drifting in the air — a true scent of autumn.

What we commonly call “桂花” in Chinese is known in Japan as kinmokusei (“金木犀”). This is a general term; depending on flower color and type, there are more detailed names, though we will leave those aside for now.

Kinmokusei is known for its rich, sweet fragrance — unforgettable, yet fleeting. Because of its short blooming period, it is regarded as the flower of first love. Its name includes the character “犀,” meaning “rhinoceros,” as the tree’s bark resembles a rhino’s rough skin.

In Japan, kinmokusei is deeply loved. Its fragrance is said to have a calming effect. Many skincare and lifestyle brands release seasonal limited-edition products, allowing people to bring this gentle autumn scent into their homes and enjoy its presence a little longer.

As a devoted lover of kinmokusei, I am completely enchanted by its sweet and unique aroma. At this very moment, I have a Japanese kinmokusei mask on my face, sipping osmanthus oolong tea brought from Taiwan, while thinking fondly of Hong Kong’s classic goji-berry osmanthus jelly.

最近、日本の街を歩いていると、ふわりと金木犀の香りが漂ってきて、秋の気配をしみじみと感じます。

中国語で「桂花」と呼ばれる花は、日本では金木犀（キンモクセイ）と呼ばれています。もちろん、これは総称で、花の色などによってさらに細かく区別されますが、ここでは省略します。

金木犀は濃厚で甘い香りが印象的ですが、花期が短いため、「初恋の花」ともいわれます。名前にある「犀」は「サイ」のことで、金木犀の樹皮がサイの皮のように見えることに由来しています。

日本では金木犀はとても愛されています。花の香りにはリラックス効果があるともいわれています。多くのスキンケアブランドや日用品メーカーが季節限定の商品を発売し、この秋ならではの香りをご自宅でも楽しめるようにしています。

私もこの金木犀の大ファンで、その甘く特別な香りにすっかり魅了されています。いま、日本の金木犀フェイスマスクを付け、台湾から持ってきた桂花烏龍茶を味わいながら、香港の杞子桂花糕を思い出しています。

踏入初秋，在日本街角、公園或庭院中，常可見到一種奇妙又優雅的花——酔芙蓉（スイフヨウ）。

它的名字意為「醉芙蓉」，源自花朵顏色隨時間而變的特性。早晨時，酔芙蓉純白如雪；到了午後，花色漸轉淡粉；黃昏時分，則變成柔和的桃紅，宛如醉後的臉頰 —— 因此得名「酔芙蓉」。

這花的生命僅有一天，翌日便凋謝。在秋風微涼的季節裡，它以變幻的色彩，悄悄訴說著時光的流轉，提醒人們，愛與人生皆如花色般變化無常，每一刻的美麗都值得珍惜。

As autumn gently arrives, one may often spot a curious yet graceful flower blooming along the streets, in parks, or gardens of Japan — the Sui-fuyō (酔芙蓉), also known as the “Drunken Hibiscus.”

Its name, meaning “drunken hibiscus,” comes from its enchanting transformation of color throughout the day. In the morning, its petals are pure white as snow; by afternoon, they turn a delicate pink; and by evening, they deepen into a soft rosy hue — like the blush of a face gently touched by wine.

Each flower lives only for a single day, fading away by the next. Yet in the cool breeze of early autumn, its shifting shades quietly tell the story of time’s passing — reminding us that love and life, like the flower’s colors, are ever-changing, and that every fleeting moment of beauty is worth cherishing.

花知識 —

小時候，家旁邊有一塊空地，外面的鐵絲網上長滿了牽牛花。幾年後，空地上蓋了高樓，牽牛花也成為了我的童年回憶。來到日本，在街上又再看到牽牛花，又令我想起兒時的點滴。

在日本，「牽牛花」有著頗有詩意的名稱ー　「朝顏」（あさがお），意為「早晨的臉」，因為牽牛花主要在早晨開花，午後便會凋謝。它是一種深受日本人喜愛的夏季觀賞植物，從中國傳入日本後，在江戶時代就十分流行。��作為日本夏天的代表花卉，牽牛花與七夕傳說有連結，象徵著愛情的好緣分，因此在當時也常被用於祈求好運。

When I was a child, there was an empty lot next to my home, its wire fence covered with blooming morning glories. A few years later, a tall building stood on that land, and the morning glories became nothing more than a cherished memory of my childhood. Now, seeing them again on the streets of Japan, those blossoms bring back fragments of my early days.

In Japan, the morning glory carries a beautifully poetic name — “Asagao”, meaning “the face of morning.” The flower blooms with the sunrise but fades by afternoon, embodying the fleeting beauty of dawn. Loved by the Japanese as a classic summer flower, it was first introduced from China and became immensely popular during the Edo period.

As a symbol of summer in Japan, the morning glory is also tied to the Tanabata legend, representing destined love and good fortune. In those times, people would often use it as a charm to pray for luck and blessings.

子どもの頃、家のそばに空き地があり、外の金網には朝顔（あさがお）がたくさん咲いていました。数年後、その空き地には高い建物が建ち、朝顔は私の幼い日の思い出となりました。日本に来て、街角で再び朝顔を見かけると、子ども時代の記憶がふっとよみがえってきます。

日本では、朝顔という名のとおり、「朝の顔」を意味する少し詩的な名前で呼ばれています。朝に花を開き、午後にはしぼんでしまうその姿は、朝の一瞬の美しさを映しています。朝顔は日本の夏を代表する観賞植物として広く愛され、中国から伝わり、江戸時代にはすでに大流行しました。

さらに、朝顔は日本の夏の花として七夕伝説にも結びつき、良縁や愛情の象徴とされ、当時は幸運を願う花としても大切にされていました。
