下個星期日（6月28日）我哋嘅行程超級緊密與豐富，將會與海外及本地朋友仔見面!

一大清早 7:15 (香港時間)，我哋會跨越時區，線上實時連線加拿大溫哥華！支持由 Vancouver Mahjong Club 喺溫哥華中山公園舉辦嘅「手繪麻雀工作坊」🎨。好期待可以同海外嘅朋友仔分享屬於我哋嘅「香港麻雀工藝故事」！

下晝我哋會去到將軍澳廣場，參與由非遺辦主辦的麻雀牌製作技藝工作坊！今次我哋特別設計咗結合「港式奶茶 ☕️ + 香港交通工具 🚌」，再配上 張誠忠師傅 親手雕刻嘅珍貴麻雀牌 一索！帶大家體驗最地道、最精緻嘅香港傳統工藝！

We are absolutely thrilled to be part of the Hong Kong ICH Month to celebrate and preserve our beautiful intangible cultural heritage!

Next Sunday (June 28), we have an incredibly exciting lineup connecting local and overseas mahjong lovers:

🌅 【Virtual Connection to Vancouver】

Early in the morning, Karen Aruba will cross time zones to join live virtually with the Vancouver Mahjong Club! They are hosting a mahjong painting workshop at the beautiful Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden. We can’t wait to share our unique Hong Kong mahjong story with everyone there! 🌎

🌆 【Afternoon: Creative Workshop Hong Kong】

In the afternoon, we’ll head over to TKO Plaza to conduct our hands-on creative workshop! We’ve created a very special design featuring local milk tea ☕️, iconic HK transportation 🚌, and Master Cheung Shing Chung's exquisite hand-carved mahjong tile Sparrow.

Our Story:
Father-daughter duo Mr. Cheung Sing Chung and Karen, alongside family member Mr. Cheung Chun Chung, have devoted their hearts into the cultural heritage of mahjong tiles that capture the unique charm of Hong Kong's local culture.

Together, they work hand-in-hand to preserve and promote the beautiful, intangible cultural heritage of mahjong tile making.

We are so blessed to collaborate with Project House to support local residents with a fun mahjong painting activity, bringing a cheerful and vibrant atmosphere to the local residents in Sai Ying Pun! 🎨✨

Project House does incredible work by weaving heritage, community, and culture to provide a welcoming "breathing space" for neighbors to connect and unwind. Their mission to bridge local resources and build a resilient, supportive community network is truly inspiring, and we are so proud to play a small part in it. 🤝❤️

《香港手藝 Hong Kong Hands on》呢本書，真係一份送畀香港好靚嘅禮物。好想多謝 beinghongkong 、成個製作團隊同埋每一位貢獻者，多謝你哋用咗咁多心機，紀錄低咁多平時難得一見嘅香港舊故事同珍貴影像。

喺香港要做一本內容咁紮實嘅書，同工藝本身一樣：成本高、籌備時間長、心力投入大，壓力亦唔細，真係一啲都唔容易。如果唔係對呢座城市嘅人和事有一份「真心」同「珍惜」，真係好難堅持落去。

一直都好感激 crafts_on_peel_hk 嘅 Yama & Penelope 對一班香港工藝師嘅支持，今次訪問仲將我哋嘅「Mahjong Wanderlust - Hong Kong theme」系列收錄喺書入面，真係好榮幸！🫶🏻

Hong Kong Hands on "香港手藝” is such a beautiful tribute to the soul of our city. We want to say a huge thank you to Being Hong Kong, the entire crew, and every single contributor for all the heart you’ve poured into this project. You’ve captured so many “unseen” stories and rare images of old Hong Kong that we rarely get to see anymore.

I’m also so grateful to crafts_on_peel_hk for the interview and for including our “Mahjong Wanderlust - Hong Kong” set. It’s an honor to see our blend of traditional hand-carving, laser engraving, and contemporary art featured alongside the incredible work of other great bamboo artisan 🌼🌼🌟

Doing book printing and craft in Hong Kong is incredibly tough given the high costs — it really comes down to the “true heart” of the people who love this city. Check their bio and support them by ordering a copy. Let’s keep the spirit of Hong Kong craft alive together. 🏮❤️. It’s really such a beautiful book! Thank you very much!
