【2026 匠心傳承🀄️✨ 11-12月新登場】

繼今年3月首屆課程反應熱列，我們守護手雕麻雀工藝的初心始終不變 !

大家期待已久的【匠心・手雕麻雀基礎課程】本年度第二期已落實於 11月至12月 開班啦！學員們將繼續在張師傅（Master Cheung）的悉心指導下，解鎖手雕麻雀的新技藝。

【匠心・手雕麻雀基礎課程】( 11 - 12月班 )

🔹 工匠親授：50年經驗張師傅示範 x 藝術家系統解說。
🔹 完善配套：採用改良工具及物料，免費線上教材供課後重溫。
🔹 掌握技法：由淺入深，由握刀、鑽筒子到磨刀上色，打好基礎。
🔹 持續進修：畢業學員可租用工具進階練習，磨練匠藝。

🗓 日期：11月11日、18日、12月2日、12月9 日 (逢星期三晚)，為期4天

⏰ 時間：晚上 7:30pm - 9:30pm

One year in Aruba as a kid — that's all it took. The island's happiness, peace, and energy never left me. I came back in 2019 with my drawings and it’s the first time I participated in Aruba Art Fair, and it felt like home again.

Then in 2024, I took my illustration of mahjong tiles to Aruba, painted some tiles on the island, and invited my friend the local photographer Elnathan to capture it all through his lens. Last year, Mahjong Wanderlust — Aruba Theme was born at my solo show in Hong Kong with my dad!

When I was invited to join this year’s exhibition with the theme "Nature × Mankind," I smiled from the bottom of my heart. Our collaborative work really brings this values and ideas to life.

Persistence. Life. Mahjong connects cultures all around the world.

Though I can't make it to Aruba in person this year, the physical masterworks have made the journey from Hong Kong to the Caribbean to represent this wonderful cross-cultural connection.

童年的快樂與和平，來自在 Aruba 生活的那一年。2019 年首次帶着畫作參展。2024 年再次飛到 Aruba，在島上親手繪製麻雀樣本，由 Elnathan 掌鏡記錄。去年與父親一起創作，作品於香港展出。

今年收到Aruba Art Fair邀請，主題是「Nature × Mankind」—— 那一刻，真的很興奮，彷彿找到了創作的初心。

作品從香港跨越千里來到這片 Caribbean 小島，以實物訴說這段跨文化交流人與麻雀連繫的故事。

從兩年前的寧靜沙灘，再次回到加勒比海 ＡＲＵＢＡ……🌊

父女聯手創作的獨特作品 ——《Mahjong Wanderrlust - Aruba Theme》終於順利降落加勒比海阿魯巴了！✈️📦 經歷了運送波折，看著它們安全抵達，真的很感恩。✨

這座島嶼承載著我十歲時與爸媽、外婆共度一年的快樂回憶，亦是充滿對媽媽的懷念。這件作品正好契合了本次「人與自然 (Nature x Mankind ) 的主題， 多謝主辦的邀請！ 將我們家人的創作，融入加勒比海的自然蔚藍中。

實體作品及２０２４年前往AＲＵＢＡ 的拍攝相片將於 9 月 11–13 日在 Aruba Art Fair展出 ！非常開心！

From a quiet beach 2 years ago, back to the Caribbean Sea... 🌊

The father and daughter duo collaboration unique artpiece – Mahjong Wanderlust – Aruba Theme – has finally landed in Aruba this week! ✈️📦

We are excited to announce our participation in the this September 11–13, and honestly, it feels like a miracle. ✨

This journey actually started two years ago in 2024. I brought our contemporary art and hand painted mahjong samples on a very long-distance journey to Aruba, capturing them in the beautiful Caribbean Sea with our good friend, the talented local photographer Elnathan Hijmering. Now, those concepts have grown into finished artpiece along with beautiful photos taken in Aruba, returning to the very island that inspired them this year!

Getting them there this week was quite a hassle — with sudden shipping issues and plenty of worry — but seeing these work arrive safely makes it all worth it! 😮‍💨

This island holds a deeply personal place in my heart. My father and mother brought me to Aruba when I was ten years old, where we stayed with my maternal grandma for almost a year.

Those sweet memories have never been forgotten in my life, and bringing this collaboration with my father back to Aruba feels like the ultimate tribute to our mom family's history there.

Mahjong Wanderlust - Aruba Theme is mixed media integrating with hand-carving, full set of hand-painting and contemporary art in engraving to bring in creative elements, wish all of you love it!

Though I can't travel to Aruba myself this year, the real artpieces will be there waiting for you. If you’re visiting Aruba next month, please don't miss it!

【 June ICH Month Throwback: Craftsmanship & Family Fun! 🀄️ 】

Looking back at our wonderful event during the Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Month in June! The warmth and joy of the event are still fresh in our memories.

The highlight of the day was Master Cheung Sing Chung, Ricky, with over 50 years of experience, demonstrating the art of hand-carving mahjong tiles.

Equally wonderful was our family workshop, where parents and children worked together to experience the traditional techniques of coloring and "scraping" the tiles. It was truly special to see this heritage well received by so many people.

A huge thank you to the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office (ICH Office) for their wonderful invitation, support, and organization in bringing this meaningful craft into the community! 🙏✨

轉眼來到下半年，但 6 月「香港非遺月」活動的溫馨與開心的畫面依然留在心中！

當天最令人期待的當然是張誠忠師傅親自示範手雕麻雀工藝。另一邊，家長與小朋友也一起發揮創意，親自體驗麻雀牌上色與傳統「鏟色」工序。看著大小手互相協作、為麻雀添上繽紛色彩，讓這項非遺工藝以最溫暖、生動的方式在家庭間傳承下去。

特別感謝 非物質文化遺產辦事處（ICH Office） 的誠意邀請、全力支持與籌辦，讓這項承載香港集體回憶的傳統工藝能夠走進社區，帶給更多家庭歡樂！

Visiting the Wereldmuseum this past March was definitely one of the most memorable milestones of my life!

This journey began all the way back in 2023, and finally being able to travel to the Netherlands to see our work on display was an incredible achievement for both Master Cheung and myself.

A huge, heartfelt thank you to .amsterdam and the wonderful curating team for their vision, support, and trust in selecting our Hong Kong creative piece, "Mahjong Wanderlust - Hong Kong Theme" to represent the beautiful fusion of traditional craft and innovative contemporary art.

After a wonderful two-year run, this exhibition will be coming to an end this August.

If you are traveling in Europe this summer, make sure to plan a visit before we say goodbye!!

Carving the Circles (Dots)

Have you ever wondered how those perfectly round, concentric circles (Dots / 筒子) are carved onto a solid tile entirely by hand?

It is all thanks to a highly specialized, traditional tool called the "Drill" (筒子鑽)!

Unlike carving straight lines or characters, making circles (dots) requires a completely different kind of hand coordination:

1️⃣ One hand holds the tile steady, feeling the resistance of the material.

2️⃣ The other hand pushes and pulls a horizontal bar, spinning the custom drill bit to carve smooth, deep, and perfectly centered circles.

3️⃣ Precision is everything — even a tiny slip can ruin the alignment of the concentric rings, which is why master-level focus is required!

It has been an incredible 3-year working journey from zero to where we are today.
