Handmade ornaments, felt decor and party supplies from Grab a Coffee I've started make jewelry around a year ago. All of my items are one of a kind.

It looks like it came from nothing, but I always been involved in creative things somehow... I was a crafter for many years, but besides of work, I did not have time for anything. Now, I am at home with my son... and I have less time than ever - but I have to do something creative. I've started to cut and sew felt, and I just cannot stop making them. I enjoy making things with my own hands and I'm

always thinking of new designs I'd like to make. I have a small shop in Etsy, which is a bunch of new ideas which need to be realized...I adore to create something new every day! Some mornings I still expect to wake up and find out the last few months were just a bad dream — that the tariffs never happened, the new packaging rules never happened, and I could just quietly get back to making things and sending them out to people who actually want them.

That hasn't happened yet. But it got me thinking — if I woke up tomorrow and could ship anywhere again, no complications, what would you actually want from the shop? A felt ornament, a flower or a bouquet? A pair of wooden earrings, a bookmark, something else entirely?

Tell me what you'd pick. Doesn't cost anything to dream about it - dream with me for a few moments ...

I went quiet for over a week. Not because I ran out of ideas — because I've been sitting with a harder question: is this business still worth fighting for.

Between the tariffs and the new EU packaging rules, the math has gotten ugly. I don't have a neat answer yet.

Some old pieces are still sitting on the shelf, handmade, not going anywhere. Some new pieces are on my desk too... but don't even know if it worth to share ... I simply don't know what to do ...

Due to new EU packaging and recycling regulations, I’ve made the decision to (temporarily) pause shipping to EU countries.

Grab a Coffee is a one-man show, and the new requirements means additional registration, reporting and compliance obligations in the individual EU countries I ship to, even when I only send a handful of orders there each year. It also means high fees to be compliant in each EU member state, hiring someone in the given country where I might not even get any order.

I’m so sorry to my EU customers affected by this change, and incredibly grateful for your patience and understanding - you saved my small business after US tariff change came in - now another parties are trying to kill small businesses again.

You might ask, how can you support a small business these days? Share some love, comment or whatever would help us feel that you still care. If the small business has digital items, you might consider support them that way. Shop small - help your local artists!

Can you guess what was missing from my felt flower bouquets? 🌸

The flowers were pretty… but something felt unfinished.

The answer? Greenery! 🌿

Just like in a real bouquet, leaves and stems bring everything together. They add shape, balance, and that natural “fresh from the garden” feeling.

So I created a little collection of my favorite small greenery stems:
🌿 a bold leafy branch
🌿 a rose-inspired leaf stem
🌿 a two-tone leaf design
🌿 a tiny green bud stem

They’re small enough to work beautifully with felt flowers, but detailed enough to make your arrangements look extra special.

People sometimes ask me why I work with felt.

Out of all the materials in the world, why felt?

The answer is simple: it makes me smile.

It's soft but sturdy.
Colorful but timeless.
Simple to look at, yet incredibly versatile.

With just a few pieces of felt, some thread, and a little imagination, you can create something that lasts for years.

A bookmark that joins every reading adventure.
A keyholder that goes everywhere with you.
A decoration that becomes part of someone's home.

Every new project reminds me why I fell in love with crafting in the first place.

Sometimes I wonder where my handmade creations end up.

Maybe a felt bookmark is tucked inside a favorite mystery novel that's read every evening before bed.

Maybe a little mushroom decoration brings a smile every time someone walks past it.

Maybe a keyholder is carried on adventures, road trips, and everyday errands.

Once a handmade piece leaves my workspace, it starts a completely new story—one that I'll probably never know.

And somehow, I love that.

There's something magical about creating an item that becomes a small part of someone else's daily life.

One of my favorite thoughts as a maker is this:

Every handmade piece is simply waiting for the right person to find it.

Maybe it's the bookmark that will accompany someone's favorite novel.

Maybe it's the ornament that will become part of a family tradition.

Maybe it's the little keyholder that makes someone smile every morning before they leave the house.

I never know where my creations will end up.

But I love imagining the stories they'll become part of.

That's one of the most rewarding parts of creating handmade items—they continue their journey long after they leave my workspace.
