The formal living room sits at the center of the plan, bordered by garden views on two sides — a terrace opening onto planted greenery on one edge, and a quieter garden strip along the corridor on the other. That corridor connects the living room to the parents' bedroom, running beside a narrow indoor planting strip instead of a plain enclosed hallway — a small, deliberate pause of green between the private and shared parts of the house.

Limestone, timber, and trailing green — Y Villa in Batu Bolong works with three materials and lets them do the talking. The twin pitched roofs give it a quiet presence on the street, while the living terrace edge softens what could have been a heavy facade. A straightforward tropical idea, executed with care.

A seamless blend of indoor comfort and tropical living. 🌿

Designed as the heart of the villa, this open-plan living space connects the lounge, dining, and kitchen areas into one harmonious experience. Warm natural materials, a handcrafted timber lattice ceiling, and soft neutral tones create a calming atmosphere, while full-height openings invite natural light, fresh air, and views of the private pool and lush landscape. Every detail is curated to encourage relaxation, connection, and effortless island living in the heart of Bali.Every corner of this villa is designed to feel warm, open, and close to nature. 🌿

The living and pantry area all flow into one connected space — from the lounge to the dining table to the kitchen, nothing feels closed off or separate. Wooden ceilings, natural materials, and soft neutral colors keep the vibe calm and grounded. Fresh air and sunlight come in freely, so you always feel connected to the outdoors even when you're inside.

The bedroom carries the same energy — quiet, natural, and restful. With a woven rattan ceiling, warm lighting, and earthy tones throughout, sleeping here feels like a five-star resort stay, but still personal and intimate.

One villa, one character — modern tropical Bali at its best. ✨

Discovering the Art of Sleep 🛏️✨

Last Wednesday, the Cowema team joined an intimate brand introduction session at Laflo Experience Menteng — and it was nothing short of inspiring.

We were introduced to Flou, an Italian brand founded in 1978 in Meda, Italy, that has spent nearly five decades redefining the bedroom. Representatives Gisela and Luca flew in directly from Italy to walk us through the brand's remarkable journey — from the iconic Nathalie bed, the world's first modern padded textile bed with removable covers, to today's thoughtfully crafted collections.

Two standout pieces took center stage: the Gaudì bed by Matteo Nunziati, with its distinctive solid wood frame and curved headboard, and the Yuna bed, offering a softer silhouette with its generous upholstered form in fabric or leather.

One of the most fascinating moments? Discovering Flou's Leonardo slat system — individual wooden slats beneath the mattress that can be physically adjusted to create your perfect level of firmness or give. Truly personal, truly intentional.

What Flou brought to Jakarta that afternoon was more than a product showcase. It was a conversation about quality, longevity, and the quiet luxury of a good night's rest — crafted in Italy, experienced right here in the city.

A timeless tropical classic residence designed with a strong heritage character, where elegant proportions, layered roof forms, and warm natural textures create a refined yet welcoming presence. The façade composition plays with subtle architectural setbacks and forward projections, giving depth and rhythm without feeling excessive. The upper level is thoughtfully dedicated to circulation and spatial flow, while the lower level embraces lush mini garden pockets that soften the architecture and strengthen the tropical atmosphere. A balance between classic elegance and modern simplicity — calm, grand, and beautifully connected to nature.
