This piece has an inspiration story behind it. When I was first getting into reptiles years ago I bought a couple of geckos as they are a good beginner reptile. Well, I had young kids who were very interested in learning about them. One got very curious and one morning she thought it would be a good idea to take one out, so she picked it up by the tail…it turned to bite her finger and then dropped a wiggling tail. She screamed the house down, convinced the tail was going to get her. I was worried myself as I thought she had pulled it off. It was a learning point for me as I never heard of it happening before. They do this as a defensive mechanism. After lots of googling and care put into learning more…we never lost interest and had fun watching his tail grow back. She didn’t do this again! 🤣 So yeah that’s what inspired this piece and many gecko owners can probably relate in one way or another. I added a funny animated look for a more dramatic effect.
