A fun festive one today, since we are coming into the season! ⛄🎄
Materials: Paper, marker, scissors, foam sheets/toilet tissue/crepe paper/ scrap paper, pva glue
Steps: Cut your choice of coloured paper into small pieces, I used foam sheets here for added sensory exploration. Draw any festive image, such as a snowman, christmas tree or baubles on a white sheet of paper. Cover the image in pva/craft glue and then stick the colourful pieces of paper onto the image in any way you like.

One of two different activities using the same material! 🥰
Activity: Homemade puzzle
Materials: card or cardboard, scissors, marker, paint/colouring pencils
Steps: Cut out a large square from a piece of card or cardboard, I re-used an old pizza box here. Draw any image or scene onto the card using a marker, I chose to draw a firetruck for my vehicle obsessed 2 year old. Allow your child to paint or colour the image. Draw puzzle shapes onto the image and then cut them out. You can allow your child to do all of the above on their own, under suprevision, depending on their age too! Enjoy your own homemade puzzle! 🥰🧩

A simple one today but brings so many learning opportunities! 🥰
Activity: Trace and Learn 🖍
Materials: paper, pencils/crayons/markers
Steps: Take a pencil or marker and draw short lines in the shape of letters, numbers, shapes or words for your child to trace over.
This is a perfect learning activity that not only provides opportunity for learning the alphabet/numbers/shapes/colours but also supports motor skills and learning to hold a pencil and write. The added bonus is spending time together and learning in a fun way! 🥰🌱

It has been a few days but here I am back with another fun activity that will inspire a growing imagination and plenty of fun for your little ones! 🐖🐄
Activity: Cardboard barnyard
Materials: cardboard box, scissors, sticky tape, yellow card, toy animals/tractors/etc, optional- paint
Steps: Cut one side of your box down to open up the box amd create more space. Fold the three top parts of the box to create a roof and stick together with sticky tape. Make two sections inside the box using a longer piece of cardboard, stick it in using tape or glue and fold in half to create a sort of door. Take your yellow card and fold it into smaller rectangle pieces, then cut into small strips to create the hay. Add toy animals and tractors and let your child enjoy their own farm! You can also paint the box to make it look more realistic and add a bit more colour and allow older children to cut the hay with safety scissors for more involvement and skill practicing! 🥰🌱

Bit of a different one today, for all the sensory and messy play loving littles out there!
Activity: Oats & sorts construction play
Materials: Oats, cereals, crackers (any dry foods that can be crumbled), raisins/sweets/chocolates (optional and can be added to give it a bit more colour and fun), vehicle toys/spoons/small containers
Steps: Find a large container and fill it with some oats or crumbled up crackers as I have done above, or with any dry foods of your choice. Add some fun bits like raisins or sweets to create 'rocks'. Place the container on the floor, be aware that the food will likely not stay in the container so this is a bit of a messy one, but thats the fun of it 😂 Give your child some toys or spoons and small containers for scooping and transporting and playing with.
This is a great one for sensory seekers, very hands on so great for hand-eye co-ordination and imagination building. Also safe to eat but children should always be suprevised at all times due to choking hazards for young sprouts!

The winter months are the perfect time to get your hands on our activity packs! The weather is turning colder and this means entertaining the little ones has become an indoor affair. Here is another activity thats sure to be a bit of fun!
Activity: Toilet roll flower/firework painting
Materials: used toilet rolls, scissors, paint, paper, colouring pencils
Steps: Take each toilet roll and cut strips/petal shapes halfway into the roll. Bend the strips/petals out and then dip into your paint of choice. Lift out of the paint and press the roll onto paper. Repeat multiple times, in different colours. Leave to dry as is and you've created fireworks, or add some yellow circles in the middle and green stalks/leaves using colouring pencils and you've got a wonderful flower garden 😊🌸🎆

A rainy day activity we did a little while ago ☔
Activity: Paint and Stick pasta picture
Materials: Dry pasta of any kind, PVA glue, paint, sticky tape, paper card
Steps: Place the paper card on your table and stick down using sticky tape around the edges, this ensures the page won't move around all over the table. Pop some paint in your containers of choice, and some dry pasta in another clean container.
Cover the paper with a layer of PVA glue and then allow your child to dip the pasta into paint and stick it to the paper. Remove the sticky tape gently when finished and move to a safe space to dry, leave it flat so as not to have the pasta slide off. 🥰🌱

Another cold day, another fun activity for your little ones! 😊
Activity: Cardboard Car park/wash
Materials: cardboard boxes (preferably shoe box or large toy box), scissors or blade, marker, sticky tape/blue tack and empty toilet paper rolls for the car wash.
Steps: Get an empty shoebox or larger cardboard box and cut an opening, sort of like a ramp, on one side. Take your marker and draw several small rectangle shapes inside, you can also draw a directional arrow and add words such as car park or parking, as I have above.
For the car wash, take two empty toilet paper rolls and put them side-by-side in the box, using blue tack/sticky tape or glue to secure them. Then cut each side for an opening, so that the cars can go through the box.
If making both a car wash and car park, you can attach them together with sticky tape or glue and cut out one side of the car park so that the cars can go through one to the other 😊
Anyone else have a car fanatic little one? 🚗🥰

In line with the last post, here is one example of a fun activity you can do with things already in your home!
Halloween bubble art
Materials: paint, washing up liquid, used toilet roll (cut in half), paper, googly eyes (optional), marker.
Steps: mix a bit of paint with the same amount or a tad more, of washing up liquid in a container of choice. Dip the toilet roll into the mixture gently, lift and press onto your choice of paper, then lift it off the page and pop the bubble. Add googly eyes or other details using a marker. I added some legs and a smile onto one little spider 😊🕷
You can create anything you like, little monsters, spiders, pumpkins. Perfect little halloween activity from home that can be enjoyed by those big and small! 🎃🕷🎨

An empty shoebox, a cereal box and a used loo roll, what do all of these have in common? 🤔 Sustainability and creativity are at the heart of Mysproutandme, this means that the crafts and activities curated often involve recycling and re-using things which you would typically throw away daily. The things in this picture are filled with possibility! So not only are you getting more for your euro but we're thinking of our environment too, which is always a goal 😊🌱🌍
