🐝 Finally, after 5 hours of hard work — mission accomplished! 🐝

Managed to safely remove the bees from the chimney and relocate them into my temporary box. 🙌

I opened only one section of the chimney, keeping the disturbance and damage to a minimum while making it easier to work with the colony.

It was a long and challenging job, but seeing the bees safely relocated made every hour worth it. 🐝❤️

🐝 A 6-Year-Old Bee Colony in a Chimney! 🐝

This colony of bees has been living in this chimney for around 6 years. The owners now want them removed because the bees have started attacking them while they’re working around the farm.

I went out to take a look, expecting the bees to be mainly inside the chimney pipe. But once I inspected it, I discovered that the colony isn’t just in the pipe — they’ve made their home throughout the chimney space. 🐝🍯

To remove the colony properly and safely, a section of the chimney will have to be taken down so I can get access to all the bees, comb.

I explained everything to the owners, and they’ve decided to come back to me once
the decision is made.

🐝 Another bee cut-out today!

Taking a colony of bees out of a wooden hut, and these girls were definitely not happy to see me! 😅

I’ve done so many cut-outs this year, but I’ve never come across bees as aggressive as these. They’re not Irish-native stock, and their temperament was on another level.

The plan now is to replace the queen with an Irish queen, which should hopefully settle the colony down and improve their temperament over time. 🇮🇪🐝

🐝 Another colony of bees saved and safely rehomed! 🐝

These bees had only been living in the roof for a few weeks, but with small children in the house, the family understandably became concerned.

One of the children was stung and had a serious allergic reaction. An ambulance was called, and thankfully the child received the help they needed. ❤️

I was able to safely remove the colony from the roof and rehome the bees keeping both the family and the bees safe. 🐝🏡

What a great day! 🐝💛 Feeling wonderful, especially when I finish a job and know it’s been done properly.

Taking bees out of a roof always gives me mixed feelings. It feels great to safely remove and save the bees, but it’s hard to see how much damage can sometimes be done to a property.

The important thing is that the bees are safe, the problem is sorted, and everything is good now. Another job done right! 🐝🏠💪

I never throw anything away that comes from my bees—everything can be reused. 🐝💛

Another bee colony safely relocated today! 🐝

This one definitely got the heart racing first time building and using roof scaffolding 😬—it was so high up! Thankfully, another successful relocation.

No rest for me though! Next up is harvesting the summer honey, getting the hives ready for the heather, and preparing for a busy few days at the Clonmany Agricultural Show from 4th–6th August.

It's a busy time of year, but I wouldn't have it any other way. 🐝🍯 Hope to see some of you at the show!
