ANNOUNCEMENT ::

Today, we launch our Scoil Bláth, our flower school.

We have a series of classes from September to November, all limited places. Each one adopts an element to suit each Autumnal month. We intend to pass on our flower skills so that you too, as gardener – potterers can learn, talk flowers and acquire tips and tricks.

‘Six years ago, we hosted our first event in Mexico City, brining together floral designers, studens and a shared vision to reimaging the role of flowers in our lives. We imagined Flower House Mexico as more than a workshop, it would be a celebration of creativity, culture, community. Over 3 days, students would learn, design and collaborate with renowned floral designers, culminating a publlc showcase where flowers transformed rooms into immersive art installation.’

From the beginning of this Bláthanna, I decided to create the ‘Conversations in Blooms’ series but a flower chat with Pili Fuentes of Flower House Mexico topped my interview manifestations list.

Then on a warm May Friday evening after lots of our messaging between Mexico City and Dublin over weeks, I met, laughed and conversed with Pili through screens, fibre optic cables and interrupting teenage money requests & beagle dinner hunting.

It made my week and I hope that my Conversations in Blooms with Pili makes yours too. X

Summertime Blooms, so full of pretty colour and shape. Delphinium, peonies, dahlias, garden roses among some of the delightful flowers along with fresh cut jasmine from Rachel’s garden and scented geranium from the lovely Johanna Johanna | Wholesale Cut Flower Farm | Meath. It’s times like these, when we see the work we are so lucky to create bringing the beauty of nature indoors into the most elegant of spaces, that we realise how lucky we, as a team, as florists are. As much as the work is tough, it’s also rewarding and fun. Thank you Claire Hanley for trusting us with your events this week and bringing our flowers to the party
