Tomorrow it’s our turn to take the plunge.
Most of us have a name that immediately comes to mind when we think about cancer. Someone we’ve lost. Someone who has fought it. Someone still fighting it. Or perhaps ourselves.
That’s why tomorrow matters.
Yes, we’ll laugh. We’ll freeze. We’ll question our life choices as we run naked into the Irish Sea 😂 — but underneath all of that is something much bigger.
We’re doing it because cancer has taken enough from enough families.
So today, I’m asking for a little help.

I’m doing it again! This is my second year taking part in the NECRET Dip in the Nip. 🌊✨
Because I am away this Sunday when the official event takes place, I absolutely could not bear to miss out—so I have already braved the elements and completed my dip early!
When I did this last year, I realized every single word about this event is true. Cancer touches absolutely everyone. Whether it is a diagnosis we’ve faced ourselves, a family member, a work colleague, or a dear friend—we all know the heartbreak of this disease.
What drove me into that freezing water early this year was the thought of the incredible camaraderie, love, and unbreakable bond shared among all the women participating. Even though I had to dip ahead of time, I felt that community spirit with me every second. To stand together (even in spirit), bare it all, and support one another for such a massive cause is a feeling I will never forget.
What is it for?
Every penny raised goes directly to NECRET (Northeast Cancer Research & Education Trust). They fund vital, life-saving cancer research and directly improve patient care at Our Lady of Lourdes Oncology Unit.
I have done my bit in the cold sea for everyone who has lost their battle, everyone currently fighting, and everyone who has survived. Now, I need your help to smash my fundraising goal.
