We at Now & Then Hand Painted Interiors specialise in revamping existing kitchen units, wardrobe doors and furniture to a modern hand painted finish. We offer a wide range of finishes, from a plain simple finish to a marbling or a distressed finish. With over 15 years experience our team consists of three painters, two female and one male. After completing a degree in Interior Design specialising
in paint effects and working with the renowned company Designers Guild in London, we are offering a complete service from design and colour consultation, right through to the completed painted finish. Most work is carried out on site, however smaller pieces can be taken away and completed off site. The process for painted kitchens normally takes place over two days. On day one, we start by thoroughly degreasing the kitchen units with a surface cleaner. Then all gaps and holes are filled with a flexible filler. Once this is done, the cabinets are ready for painting. We start by applying two coats of Shellac based primer which is extremely durable. Once these coats are applied they are left to dry. Day two involves a light sand and wipe down with white spirits. Finally a top coat of Dulux oil based satinwood is applied. Doors are painted front and back and any leading edges are also covered.
