Was commissioned to do this Painting for Gertie Brownes who are currently displaying the piece in their Cellar Bistro / Gertie Brownes Bar & Bistro
It’s always such a pleasure to see my artwork become part of a local space, and I’m incredibly grateful to Gertie Brownes for supporting my work and giving me the opportunity to create something especially for them. ❤️

A huge thank you to the team for choosing me for this commission and for supporting a local artist. It really does mean a lot!

🎨 NEW COVER ART — “I Don’t Think (DnB Remix)” 🎶

I’m so excited to share the recent cover artwork I created for Bríd Kenny’s latest single, “I Don’t Think – DnB Remix”, mixed by Limerick-based DJ 40hurtz. 🖤

The original Irish-language song explores overthinking, feeling overwhelmed by your thoughts, and the aftermath of a love that didn’t work out — suppressing those darker thoughts by telling yourself “na bac” — it doesn’t matter.

The DnB remix transforms those emotions into something much more intense. With distant, repeated words like “smaoineamh” (think), the track has an obsessive, looping energy that feels like being trapped inside your own head, unable to switch off. 🌀

I wanted the artwork to reflect that feeling while drawing on themes of mythology, darkness, the ethereal and psychedelic, trippy dreamlike worlds. ✨🌙🌀

A really exciting piece to create — I hoe you like it!

🎨 A little before & after from a recent project in Portumna! 🎨

I had the pleasure of painting and revamping the signage for An Caisleán Pub in Portumna.

The original sign had been proudly in place for around 30/40 years, when the client got in touch, the brief was to give it a new lease of life while keeping the original character, charm and integrity of the sign intact.

Rather than completely changing it, the aim was to carefully refresh what was already there — bringing the colours, lettering and details back to life while respecting the history behind it. ❤️

It was a really enjoyable project, especially knowing that this sign has been part of An Caisleán for four decades and will hopefully continue to be for many more years to come.

A big thank you to Eoin for trusting me with the job! 🎨🖌️

An old sign, given a new lease of life — without losing what made it special in the first place. 🍻

Thanks very much HiConnacht.ie 🙌✨✨

Like so many artists, my journey started with a passion for creating, not with a grand plan. Just a lot of painting, a lot of learning, and a lot of hoping that one day my work might reach people.

Looking back while doing this interview for article is a reminder that even the biggest milestones have very ordinary beginnings.

I’m so grateful to every person who has encouraged me, supported my work, bought a painting, visited an exhibition or simply shared a kind word along the way. Every bit of support has helped me continue doing what I love.

From spice bags in a Roscommon takeaway to the pages of British Vogue 🎨

We had the pleasure of interviewing this lady about her remarkable journey.

Artist Avril Egan has built an extraordinary career one brushstroke at a time, earning international awards while creating work filled with humour, personality and unmistakable Irish character.

Her story, her proudest painting and the ambitions still ahead are all in our latest feature.

A huge thank you to the Curraghboy Tidy Towns committee for inviting me to create this mural for the village. It was a privilege to paint something that celebrates the beauty of our countryside and community 🚜

The visit was made even more special when the Cummins family happened to be driving through and stopped by for a look. It was so lovely to share the moment with them and see such happy little faces enjoying the mural! 🥰

I hope everyone who passes through Curraghboy enjoys it for many years to come. ✨

At 2pm tune into Let’s Talk with Dan Dooner Shannonside Fm where I will be discussing Sinn Féin Ireland Motion calling for stronger protections for Irish artists in the age of AI. As an artist this is a conversation that truly matters. Creativity deserves protection not exploitation! 🎨 https://www.shannonside.ie/
