On the very first morning I arrived I heard the following statements,

I’m not creative, can I still do this?
I haven’t done anything like this before
I haven’t done any kind of art since I was in school!
I am not sure if I can do this

And I replied “that’s okay, you’ll all be artists by the end of this session!

Glass painting is a learned skill, with lots of different styles and techniques to suit everyone’s abilities 🎨🌺💖.

And as I always say
“the beauty about art is that it can be real and imaginative” 💖💖💖.

The first step is to come out and join a group, or to round up a group of friends, work colleagues, having a party , team building event that’s no problem just get in touch with me and I’ll come to you 🎨🌺😀.

A big thank you to for giving me the opportunity to deliver a beginner friendly glass painting workshop as part of their
Bealtaine active retirement club fun day celebrations last Thursday 🎨🧚‍♂️👏🎉.

The theme “Lust for Life” combining creativity with storytelling came the idea to paint the magical world of fairies.

I bet you can all remember a story or two about the tooth fairy 🧚 or a fable or a tale from times gone past or a magical moment of fun and frolics 🤔🤔✨✨

These ladies will have a physical reminder of this celebration with their hand painted glass fairy frames 👏🎉.

Is it really the first of May or is it my imagination? 🤔🤔

I want to give a big shout out and a big thank you to the Special Needs Assistants at for taking some time out for themselves to paint onto glass with me 🎨👏🙏.
They did fantastically well as you can see from the reel above 💖🎨💚🎨💙.

I am ever so grateful to everyone who has supported and booked me so far this year, you are certainly keeping me on my toes 👏🙏🥰✨.

I am delighted to say that I am almost fully booked for the month of May celebrating the Bealtaine festival where we’ll be combining Creativity and Storytelling, painting lots of fairies onto glass 🧚🧚‍♀️🧚‍♂️🙏🙏💖💖.

What a great start to the week yesterday when I was joined by lots of lovely ladies for Beginner Friendly Glass Painting classes at 🎨👏🎨👏🥰.
Everyone made a fantastic start to their gifting jars and we’ll put the finishing touches to them next Monday 🎨🎁🌺.

Great conversations and enthusiasm and even a few requests for painting Robins , so I will make sure to pop in some robin templates for next Monday’s class.

Please note that the classes will start at 9.45am and finish at 11.45am.

The Bealtaine Festival is a month long festival in May featuring performances, exhibitions, discussions, workshops and readings by artists working in different art forms all over Ireland. The festival engages people and communities to foster and inspire creativity among older people all over Ireland.

This theme will resonate with many older people, who often experience a new found energy and appreciation for life as they age. Remembering the joy of living and the potential for creativity and expression in later life.

I have been asked to facilitate a glass painting workshop reflecting the above theme next month in May

With a little bit of research I have come up with an idea that connects Creativity and Storytelling that will excite and encourage older generations to recall childhood memories, fables and tales and spark delight and wonder in younger ones.

This theme invites participants to delve into the whimsical and magical realms that fairies inhabit, sparkling imagination and wonder in young and old alike 🧚‍♀️✨

Fairies with their timeless allure serve as a universal symbol of mystery and enchantment capable of captivating hearts across all ages.

A creative glass painting workshop creates a space where adults can explore their imaginations and creativity, experimenting with vibrant bold colours and curiosity, recalling real life memories, magical stories, folklore tales and at the end of the workshop each person will hold a physical memory with their own hand painted fairy, encouraging ongoing stories and tales down through the generations of families.

Not sure if a glass painting workshop is for you?

I have been running a few workshops now and the one thing that always comes up is, how unsure people feel before they book!

But I can honestly tell you that, it all changes after a workshop.
People are pleasantly surprised and inspired by their own creativity and learned skills.
They leave with a sense of accomplishment, a personal milestone, explored creativity, joyful moments with family or newly made friends 😀👏🎨✨

The truth is most people who come along are complete beginners, with little or no creative experience.

My workshops are in person, hands on and are guided step by step through the process of glass painting.

You can stop me at any time to ask a question, to ask for advice and for some help.

There’ll be an opportunity to pause, to take a tea/coffee break, to make a connection with others in the room.

Recycle it, paint it, renew it and gift it, is just what a group of WhiteChurch brownies did last week and in plenty of time for Mother’s Day 👏🎁♥️🌺.

The children aged between 7-10yrs learned about reusing and up-cycling everyday pieces of household waste glass, turning each piece into a decorative gifting jar 🫙🎨🎁🌼🩷💝.

The children explored their creativity and were curious about colours and designs.

They transformed their ordinary jars into beautiful, decorative, meaningful and personalised Mother’s Day gifts for their Mam’s ❤️❤️❤️❤️💝💝💝💝

Working with glass and paint is a calming and fun creative hands on process at any age, encouraging focus, building self esteem and offers a break away from screens and daily routines.

Glass painting and Upcycling is a fantastic way to combine Sustainability with Creativity 🎨🫙♻️.
