Although he had a love of woodwork from a young age, it wasn’t until the 80s that Wexford man John Sinnott turned his hand to woodturning as a hobby.

We are planning a very special event in the Makers House for you on Monday 8th December, the day which traditionally marks the beginning of the Christmas season. Throughout the day enjoy festive treats and some special discounts from our Makers.

As the evening closes in the celebrations continue as we launch CONFLUENCE, a group exhibition in The Raven’s Nest Gallery upstairs at 6:30pm. The exhibition brings together the many hands, minds and materials that shape The Makers House. Each of our Makers offer a glimpse into their world—whether through a finished piece, a trusted tool, a work-in-progress or the materials that spark their process. Together these fragments form a shared landscape of craft, creativity and connection.

At 7pm we are all in for another surprise as Valda Chamber Choir will be there to sing for us. Wexford’s talented a capella group have won many awards over the years and promise a delightful selection of pieces to welcome in the Christmas season at The Makers House.

We hope you can celebrate with us and we look forward to seeing you on Monday. We have extended our opening hours throughout December. Come on in and explore our unique range of gift ideas for your loved ones this Christmas.
