Maximalism gets an understated realization in this Bengaluru home by Jois Design House.

When a home embodies beauty and meaning, it elevates the rhythm of everyday living. Such is the essence of this 2BHK Bengaluru apartment, where Jois Design House composes a symphony of color, motifs, and character into a tapestry of modern living.

Christened ‘Saaj’, (Hindi for embellishment), the 980 sqft home reflects the lively spirit of its Bengali homeowners. “The couple wanted a home rich in personality, while catering to their storage needs”, avers Ananya Jois, who manifested their vision into a sanctuary that melds charm and functionality within the compact confines.

This foyer storage unit combines matte and glossy laminates to create a timeless look, while smartly housing shoes and everyday essentials out of sight.

Finished with a soft beige lime wash and moulding details, the space feels calm, organised, and welcoming from the very first step inside.

How does lighting work even when the shelf moves? Here it is!

Inside the cabinet, there are concealed vertical power tracks built into the sides.
The light under each shelf connects to this track instead of a fixed wire.

So when the shelf height changes,
the light simply reconnects at the new position.

No loose wires.
No limitation on shelf movement.
No compromise on functionality.

This system from Häfele is called an adjustable shelf lighting system and it solves a problem designers have faced for years.
