Thanks to Namrata for creating this small, cosy and friendly space. It took me a while to find a place I'd enjoy pottering around it was worth the wait 😁

Had a really wonderful time in .ware_studio - a community ceramics space created by fellow Assamese entrepreneur/ceramic artist, coffee afficionado and all around talented powerhouse - Namrata Baruah. Extremely impressed and inspired by her dedication, determination and work ethic! 👏

Worked on a few platters for a fund raiser in December (frogs being the theme), some bowls and mugs just to make sure I don't feel completely out of touch while waiting to go back home. Though, I'm increasingly questioning where "home" is these days 🤪🤔

These were so much fun to do! And along the way, also learnt a little more about frogs 😄

Did you know that frogs have a vocal sac which expands when they need to call out and sometimes the smaller the frog, the louder they're able to croak! Fascinating creatures 🐸💚

It's finally here!

After two months of throwing, trimming, handbuilding, coiling, glazing, decorating and working through many kgs of clay - a culmination of all our efforts will be on display tomorrow at our Open Studio at .lalmitti .

It's been quite the experience, deep diving into clay for two months, working six days a week - something I've not done earlier! But looking back, I couldn't really identify a bad day. There was no moment when I didn't feel like coming in to "work". Everyday, walking up to the gate, I would savour every moment and try and enjoy the lush greenery on the short walk from Potters Retreat and look forward to what the day had in store.

Everyday was a unique experience and I'll go back with a heart full of memories and a bank full of learnings 💕

Yesterday we completed two weeks of our course so officially we're 1/4th done. Time flies for sure!

It's been intense, filled with learning, practicing and refining some of the basics (I'd either forgotten or didn't pay attention to!). Glad to be going through this journey under the watchful eyes of Elodie and Reyaz of .lalmitti !

In between, have been walking around the village in the mornings (whenever I can wake up early!), admiring the sights and sounds.

Yesterday was also the open studio of .in (Devi), a talented artist who spent a year on a mentorship. She took us through her process and how her shapes and forms came about. It's so fascinating how everyone's thought process is so different and unique. And that I guess is the beauty of art and creating 😍

The process instructions and methods might be similar and yet everyone has a different interpretation.

Also got to meet lots of fellow potters and art enthusiasts who came by. The evening ended on a happy note over some delicious South Indian fare (yummy paniyaram and dosa for me!) at Cliffy's in Palampur.

Looking forward to the next few months and more learning!

Excited to spend some time focusing on my art and diving deeper with the talented artists and at .lalmitti .

The last couple of years have been interesting (with doses of healthy challenges) and what better way to slow down, reflect and pause the reset button, than spending some quality time in a nurturing, supportive and beautifully stunning environment.

The minute I walked into the studio Reyaz and Elodie have built in Andretta, I knew I had I spend some time here!

To learning, sharing and continuing this amazing journey.
