Before milk came in packets… every morning had a sound. 🥛🚲
A bicycle bell.
Glass bottles clinking.
The milkman stopping at the doorstep.
It was ordinary.
But years later, those ordinary moments become our favourite memories.
Did you grow up with the milkman delivering milk like this? ❤️

Before selfies, there was THIS. 🪞
The mirror where we fixed our hair before school, got ready for weddings and checked ourselves one last time before leaving home.
No filters. No retakes.
Just real memories.
And now… carved into wood. ❤️
Did your home have a mirror like this?

Every family had that suitcase. 🧳❤️
The one that came out before every big trip.
Train tickets were tucked somewhere.
Clothes were packed until the suitcase could barely close.
Someone would sit on it while another person tried to lock it. 😂
And inside were all the essentials for the journey.
For many Indian families, that suitcase wasn't just luggage.
It meant we were going somewhere.
So I recreated it one block of wood at a time. 🪵🇮🇳
And then came the best part…
Opening it.
What did your family's suitcase look like?

Before smartphones, calling sounded like this. ☎️
Pick up the receiver.
Find the number.
Put your finger into the dial.
Turn it.
Wait.
Click… click… click.
And if you got the number wrong?
Start all over again. 😂
There was no speed dial.
No saved contacts.
No WhatsApp.
Just a telephone and someone's number written somewhere.
I recreated this forgotten piece of everyday India one block of wood at a time. 🪵🇮🇳
One block. One icon. One memory.
Did your home have one of these?

Every Indian home had one… and it was ALWAYS hot. 😂
Remember that heavy old electric iron?
You knew not to touch the soleplate.
You waited for it to heat.
Someone would carefully test it.
Then came the ironing.
No steam settings.
No digital display.
No fancy technology.
Just a heavy iron doing its job.
I recreated this everyday Indian household memory one block of wood at a time. 🪵🇮🇳
One block. One icon. One memory.
Did your home have one like this?

Before typing, we learned to write like this. 🖊️❤️
Dip the pen.
Write carefully.
Don't press too hard.
And whatever you do...
don't spill the ink. 😂
For many Indian schoolchildren, the fountain pen was part of growing up.
It wasn't just a pen.
It taught us patience, handwriting and the importance of every word on the page.
I recreated this school-day memory one block of wood at a time. 🪵🇮🇳
One block. One icon. One memory.
Who remembers their first fountain pen?

That sound meant someone was making something. 🧵❤️
If you grew up in an Indian home with a sewing machine, you probably remember it.
The gentle hum.
The wheel turning.
The needle moving up and down.
And someone at home quietly stitching clothes, repairing something or creating something from scratch.
It wasn't just a machine.
It was a skill passed from one generation to another.
I recreated this nostalgic Indian sewing machine one block of wood at a time. 🪵🇮🇳
One block. One icon. One memory.
Who had a sewing machine at home?

There was a time when the whole family watched the same thing. 📺❤️
Sunday morning.
The CRT television.
Someone adjusting the antenna.
Someone sitting too close to the screen.
And everyone waiting for the picture to become clear.
“Antenna ghumao!” 😂
Before Netflix.
Before YouTube.
Before everyone had their own screen.
There was one TV for the whole family.
I recreated that memory one block of wood at a time. 🪵🇮🇳
What was your favourite Sunday TV memory?

Before selfies, there was the photo studio. 📷❤️
You put on your best clothes.
Combed your hair.
Walked into a small studio.
Sat on a stool.
And the photographer said:
“Don't move.”
One click.
And that photograph stayed with your family for years.
No filters.
No Photoshop.
No 50 attempts.
Just one photograph and one memory.
I recreated that little piece of Indian history one block of wood at a time. 🪵
Do you still have an old studio photograph somewhere at home?

Before everyone had a bike, there was the bicycle. 🚲❤️
School mornings.
Riding to a friend's house.
Buying something from the neighbourhood shop.
Racing your friends down the street.
No fuel.
No traffic jams.
No notifications.
Just two wheels and freedom.
I recreated that simple piece of Indian childhood one block of wood at a time. 🪵🇮🇳
One block. One icon. One memory.
What was your first bicycle?
