The Making of HandTufted Carpets & Rugs - Hand-tufting, popularized in 19th-century America, is a faster, less labor-intensive rug-making method. At The House of Looms, artisans use a hand-held tufting gun to punch yarn into canvas, later securing it with a latex-backed fabric. The result is soft, luxurious textures and intricate, affordable designs for modern homes.

For us, The House of Looms was born from a resolve to revive a craft our families carried with pride for generations - a craft that nearly disappeared when the looms in Bhadohi fell silent. What remained was memory, emotion, and a promise to do better for the hands who built this legacy.

Today, we stand committed to honoring artisans, preserving centuries-old weaving traditions, and creating rugs that carry meaning, not excess.

Yes, the intricate Persian-inspired designs often require 6–12 months of craftsmanship, with nearly a dozen colors of wool woven into one masterpiece.
