Gear up for the first open call on 10.06.26. Here's what you need to do. Each open call will bring with it a cultural anecdote from a particular origin with some visual cues and facts. You can react to the short descriptor text on the post or you can read a longer version from the body of the post. What you use/ not use/create/reframe is entirely upto you.
1. Make a digital/analog collage in your own style interpreting the theme (square format)
2. Post it on your page tagging (mandatory)and inviting as a collaborator (optional).
3. Please mention your name/handle and country of origin.
4. You can even add (optional) how you felt learning about the particular culture.

Here's an operational framework of Collage&Culture. Through open calls we will be creating mixed media art on the theme shared on the page which will be a culture knowledge piece from any global origin. Artists are free to react/interpret the theme anyway they want.

on instagram is two days old and we are already a vibrant community with 50 wonderful artists and art lovers!

My contribution to for
To me collage is a way to navigate the world. Collage transcends cultures, language, borders, rules. It is my way to let go and hold on at the same time. Its my compass and my wings. My collages at times can communicate a lot, and sometimes nothing at all.
For this collage 10 languages from different parts of the world have been used. The thread is symbolic of how it all comes together and speaks in a unified voice.

Attended a great workshop by learning cyanotype printing. The whole process is incredibly enjoyable and the prussian blue at the end is stunning! Can't wait to experiment and incorporate new methods to make images.
