Tranceforme invites you to an intimate conversation with Kamaldeep Kaur, founder of the well-known textile and fashion brand Neelgar.

Kamaldeep Kaur has developed a distinctive language of contemporary Indian textiles, rooted in traditional techniques but never bound by them. Bandhani, Shibori, Leheriya, block printing, patchwork and Wabi-Sabi are integral elements of her creative vocabulary.

What makes her work particularly interesting is the way she takes these familiar textile traditions and reinterprets them through an individual and contemporary lens. She plays with colour, scale, pattern, texture, combinations and techniques, often bringing different traditions together in unexpected ways. The result is work that feels new and contemporary, while retaining a clear sense of its Indian textile heritage.

Join us for a conversation with Kamaldeep Kaur as she shares her creative journey and explores the possibilities of reimagining, reinventing and keeping Indian textile traditions alive through contemporary practice.
