Some of the world’s most profound artistic conversations happened centuries apart without the artists ever knowing the other existed.

One painted in New York. The other in Rajasthan.

Separated by four centuries, they arrived at the same extraordinary truth about colour, silence and the human spirit.

The connection is far more remarkable than you might imagine.

Watch till the end.

“Winter is Coming.” Except this warning could travel 500 kilometres in a single day.

Long before text messages, radio, or satellites, the Great Wall of China had its own communication network.

A plume of smoke by day. A beacon of fire by night.

From one watchtower to the next, signals raced across mountains, valleys, and deserts, warning entire regions of approaching danger within hours. It was one of the most sophisticated military communication systems of the ancient world.

Standing atop this marvel, it’s impossible not to imagine the flicker of a distant flame carrying a message across an empire.

Some walls were built to divide.
This one was built to connect.

What secret do these seven hills hold? Why have millions made this journey for centuries?

Seven hills. Three hours on foot. One ancient story.

Known as Saptagiri, the sacred hills of Tirumala are believed to represent the seven heads of Adishesha, the cosmic serpent on whom Lord Vishnu rests. As I walked this timeless landscape in gratitude for my family, I discovered that these are not merely hills, but a living mythology shaped by gods, devotion, and centuries of faith.

Along the way, I uncovered a few fascinating details that most visitors pass by without noticing and they reveal a deeper side of Tirumala that makes this pilgrimage unlike any other.

Sometimes the journey to the temple is as profound as the destination itself.

“Can stories still hold our attention without a screen?”

That question led on a remarkable journey collecting rare and contemporary puppets from across the world, from Czechoslovakia to Kerala and West Bengal, creating an immersive travelling theatre where culture, imagination, craft, and storytelling come alive once again.

Curated by Dr. Piramal and facilitated by , this powerful revival of puppetry was supported by in collaboration with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, the Nalanda Learning Centre, and Piramal Art Foundation.

What stayed with me most during my conversation with Dr. Piramal was her belief that puppets are not simply objects of entertainment, but living carriers of memory, mythology, emotion, and human connection across generations.

A beautiful reminder that preserving traditional art forms is also about preserving imagination itself.

Happy Ram Navami!

But what if I told you that Lord Rama may not have been born in April at all?

This is not just the story of a birth.
It is the story of a prince, a king, a war strategist, and a man who chose dharma over desire, again and again.

The more you study Rama, the more you realise
his life was not written to comfort us.
It was written to challenge us.

Jai Shri Ram!
