The Salt Designs Interior Design Studio Sejpal provides end to end solutions with quality custom interiors and home renovations.

Based in Mumbai, India, Darshana Sejpal of Salt Design, is an award-winning interior designer, who specializes in commercial spaces and high-end residential work. Her distinctive style, where she artfully combines her love of nature with her innate design sensibilities, lead to unique, aesthetically pleasing and functional spaces. Sejpal has completed projects which are always bespoke to meet the

specific needs of each of her clients. Notable projects that she has worked on include BKT Tyres- Poddar group, Yes Bank, Classic Marble Company, Tata consultancy services, and Poddar Housing. Strongly believing that a space should always reflect the personalities that inhabit it, she guides her clients through an interactive design journey to define the style that best reflects them. After a couple of initial design consults, her keen listening skills, lead to stunning mood boards, material trays, colour palettes, and 3d views that invariably wow her clients. All beautiful spaces are a marriage of great architecture, stunning design, and incredible styling. With over 2 decades in the design business, this last bit is the final feather in Sejpal's cap - she completes her projects with a styling flair that leads to a sensational space. Working within a budget and on a reasonable timeline are some of her other notable strengths, that have pleased all her former clients.

A wonderful morning spent with Naresh Bhai Chedda, Partner at Happy Home, at their beautiful new office at Jade Avenue, Matunga.

It was a special opportunity to reconnect, re-establish bonds, and reflect on a collaboration that opened an important door for Salt Design.

Happy Home gave us the wonderful opportunity to design a sample flat in the same iconic building as their office.

720 sq.ft. Residence at The Trees, Godrej, Mumbai

For this two-bedroom residence at The Trees, Godrej, designed for a father-son duo, the living and dining areas were envisioned in a timeless classical style—elegant, warm and inviting.

A palette of soft grey and beige sets the tone, layered with rich textures, luxe furniture and refined detailing to create a space that feels sophisticated yet comfortable.

Designed for both everyday living and entertaining, the sofa cleverly transforms into a sofa-cum-bed, making it easy for friends to stay over after evenings of entertaining.

Storage has been thoughtfully integrated throughout, keeping everything the home needs within reach without visually overwhelming the space. The intent was to make the rooms feel larger, lighter and uncluttered, while retaining their luxurious character.

And then, the view—a quiet corner that invites you to sip a cup of coffee while looking out at the beautiful Japanese gardens of Taj at Vikhroli.

Small Spaces. Big Possibilities. ✨

Every square foot has a purpose.

In this 3.5 BHK residence, the compact half-room was reimagined as a multifunctional study and guest room—a space that adapts effortlessly to changing needs.

A thoughtfully designed library wall encourages reading, while a unique width-wise Murphy bed folds away seamlessly, transforming the room from a productive work-from-home space into a comfortable guest suite whenever required. An adjustable-height desk adds flexibility, making the room equally suited for work, study or quiet moments of reflection.

The kids' bedroom continues the same philosophy of intelligent design. Planned with generous storage, it features an adjustable-height study table that grows with the child and a beautifully detailed pull-out bed to comfortably host sleepovers with friends. Classic wainscoting mouldings complete the room with a timeless elegance.

Thoughtful design is about creating spaces that evolve with the people who live in them.

The Beauty of Thoughtful Design
🇯🇵 | Nakanoshima, Osaka

Sometimes, luxury isn't about extravagance—it's about intention.

"God lies in the details," and Japan proves it beautifully.

While exploring Nakanoshima, Osaka, I found myself admiring the small design decisions that most people walk past. Umbrella lockers outside the Museum of Oriental Ceramics, each with its own lock. Rainwater thoughtfully harvested instead of wasted. Flooring that subtly guides movement and enhances public safety without demanding attention.

These aren't grand gestures—they're quiet reminders that great design solves problems before they're noticed.

With the iconic Osaka City Central Public Hall standing in the background, this experience reinforced a belief I carry into every project: the finest spaces are defined not by what they show, but by the thoughtful details they quietly deliver.

As designers, there's so much we can learn from places where functionality, beauty, and human experience come together so effortlessly.

Quiet Luxury. Smart Living.
A guest bedroom that does more.

Designed for a 1000 sq.ft. residence at The Trees, Godrej, Mumbai, this multifunctional space features a custom Murphy bed that folds away to create room for yoga, hobbies or simply more space to live.

Using Dvino Panels by × Mulji’s, we seamlessly concealed the bed hardware while creating a rich, layered aesthetic. The warm palette, integrated storage and thoughtful detailing ensure the room is as functional as it is beautiful.

At the Happy Home sample flat at Jade Avenue, Matunga, Mumbai, we used this philosophy to create a home that feels elegant, inviting and timeless—proving that luxury isn't about excess, but about balance, detail and thoughtful design.
