Unlike functional lighting, decorative lighting is often chosen as much for how it looks as for the light it gives. A pendant over a dining table, a sculptural fixture in a living room, or a statement lamp in a quiet corner can become part of the design itself.
But decorative lighting works best when it has a reason to be there. Too much of it can make a space feel visually busy, while the right piece can completely elevate an otherwise simple room.

The room has to feel shared, but it should never feel like one child is simply occupying the other child’s space.
That means thinking beyond symmetry.
There also has to be enough individuality within the room. A favourite colour, a little display shelf, a place for their books, or simply a corner that feels like their own can make a shared room feel personal.
This is where the planning becomes important. Storage, circulation, study, sleep, play and personal space all have to coexist without making the room feel crowded.
And then there is comfort.
Children spend so much time in their rooms, so the design needs to feel easy and inviting rather than overly designed. It should give them space to be together, and enough room to have their own little worlds too.

A conventional tabletop tap takes up part of the counter beside the basin. A wall-fitted tap shifts that requirement to the wall, leaving the counter free and making the basin area feel more spacious.
Instead of forcing the same solution into every bathroom, we prefer adapting the design to the space available. When the counter is tight, a wall-fitted tap can be a smarter, more space-efficient choice.

We don’t have to hide everything to make a home look good.
Hiding or concealing elements can be a great design decision. But it should be used with a reason, not simply because it is trending.
A door can be concealed when it breaks the visual flow of a wall.
But if something is not disturbing the space, there is no real reason to make it disappear.
A well-designed door can look beautiful.
A handle can become an interesting detail.
Open storage can add depth and personality.
Even a switch can sit naturally within the design when it is planned properly.
The purpose of good design is not to make everything invisible.
It is to create a visual balance between what needs to stand out, what needs to blend in, and what can simply be part of the space.
So yes, hide elements when they are visually distracting.
But don’t hide them just because you can.

A TV unit is usually one of the larger elements in a living room. When every part of it is opaque, your eye reads it as one large solid surface. By combining solid portions with glass, we create visual breaks within the unit.
This makes the unit feel more layered and balanced instead of looking like a large storage cabinet placed around the television.
The glass also works with the rest of the room rather than competing with it. It adds depth and reflection while allowing the wall behind and the objects inside to become part of the overall composition.

When you wash dishes or wipe the countertop, water naturally moves towards the edge. Without proper detailing, the water can travel underneath the countertop and reach the cabinet shutters. Even if it’s only a few drops every day, repeated exposure to moisture can slowly affect the finish of the shutters over the years.

That’s why we provide a small countertop overhang along with a drip groove placed slightly away from the edge. As water reaches the groove, it breaks its path and falls directly to the floor instead of flowing back towards the cabinets.
This is a tiny detail that most homeowners never notice, but it protects your kitchen for years.

Yes... I’m still in disbelief that I’m a content creator.
I started this journey to design homes, not to stand in front of a camera.
But somewhere along the way, I realized that if I wanted people to understand the value of good design, I had to start talking about it.
Three years later, creating content has become a part of what I do.
I genuinely enjoy breaking down design concepts, sharing what happens behind the scenes, explaining why certain decisions matter, and helping homeowners see their homes differently.
Every reel, every post, and every video is an opportunity to share something I’ve learned over the years.
So no, I still don’t think of myself as a content creator first.
I’m an architect who happens to create content.
And if that content helps even one homeowner make a better design decision, then every hour spent scripting, filming, and editing is worth it.
