If it’s good enough for British Royalty, it’s definitely good enough for your sweet tooth! 👑🍬

Did you know that the charming town of Sulmona (in Abruzzo) is officially the world capital of confetti (sugar-coated almonds)? This sweet tradition has been rocking the world since the 1400s!

But we aren't talking about your regular, run-of-the-mill candies. In Sulmona, artisans turn these treats into actual masterpieces, shaping them into stunning flowers, daisies, and grape bunches. 💐✨

They are so legendary that the British Royal Family decided they couldn't tie the knot without them. Yes, you read that right: these Italian sweets made the guest list at the most iconic royal weddings, including Charles & Diana and William & Kate! 🇬🇧🇮🇹

So, next time you pop a sugar-coated almond, just remember: you are eating like a literal king or queen. 💅

Have you ever seen these floral candy masterpieces in person? 👇

🍕❌ Move over, Fried Pizza! There’s an ancient ancestor in town... 🤫

We all know and love Naples for its legendary street food, but long before the iconic pizza fritta took over the world, there was a forgotten king of the fryer: The Rissola! 👑🥟

Think of it as the ultimate culinary plot twist. Born in medieval royal courts as a fancy, spiced delicacy for kings and queens, this little crescent-shaped pastry eventually said: "You know what? The streets are calling." 😎

It literally downgraded its budget but upgraded its soul, moving from noble palaces straight into the bustling alleys of Naples.

So, what is a Rissola?
It’s like the cooler, older cousin of the panzerotto. It uses a slightly thicker, crispier dough (no soggy bottoms here! 🙅‍♂️) stuffed with rich cheese, savory pork cracklings (cicoli), and a good kick of black pepper, all sealed perfectly like a golden pocket of pure joy.

Sadly, you won't find the word "Rissola" on many menus today, but every time you bite into a hot Neapolitan fried pizza, you are tasting its legacy.

History has never tasted so deliciously greasy! ✨ Grab a napkin and let’s celebrate the OG of street food. 🇮🇹👇

Ever wondered how a culinary masterpiece is born? Hint: It involves shepherds, creativity, and zero waste! 🍢✨

Let’s talk about the absolute king of Abruzzo’s street food: The Arrosticini. 👑

Back in the day, shepherds during the transumanza (the seasonal migration of livestock) in the Voltigno area had a challenge: how to make the meat of older sheep absolutely delicious.

Their genius solution?

Cut the meat into tiny, bite-sized cubes.

Carefully alternate lean pieces with juicy fat pieces (because fat = flavor, obviously!).

Skewer them onto wild wooden sticks called "lu cippe".

And boom! A legend was born. From a rustic necessity to Italy's favorite skewers, you just can't eat only one. Seriously, it's physically impossible. 🤤

Have you ever tried authentic Arrosticini? How many can you crush in one sitting? 👇

🥮Is it a pastry or a time machine? Spoiler: it’s both! 🕰️✨

If you happen to wander under the medieval porticoes of Rapallo (Liguria), you MUST stop by the historic Pasticceria Canepa. They’ve been serving sweetness since 1862. Yes, 164 years! 🤯

But here is the coolest part: they are the proud keepers of the "Cubeletti"—the ultimate local treat made of crumbly pastry and delicious quince jam. 🤤

How authentic are they?
Well, they are shaped using the ONLY remaining 19th-century molds in existence. They don't make these molds anymore, folks! So when you bite into a Cubeletto, you are literally eating a piece of history baked to perfection.

No modern mass production, just pure, delicious, old-school Italian craftsmanship (and a strict rule: only quince jam allowed, no exceptions!). 🍏🔒

Next time you are in the Tigullio Gulf, skip the basic snacks and go get yourself a 19th-century bite. Your tastebuds will thank you! ☕👇

Ever heard of a lake so clean you could literally drink it? 😲💧

Meet Lago di Bolsena (in the province of Viterbo), officially Europe’s largest volcanic lake and unofficially the ultimate summer bucket list spot! It’s famous for having waters so crystal-clear that locals call it "il lago che si beve" (the lake you can drink).

As if that wasn't flexing enough, it also features two gorgeous islands right in the middle: Bisentina and Martana. 🏝️🏝️

Pack your bags, leave the bottled water at home (okay, maybe don't actually drink the lake, but you get the vibe), and come check out this Italian paradise! 🇮🇹✨

🎭 Forget Silicon Valley... Italy has a valley engineered entirely for PASTA! 🍝🌬️

Welcome to Gragnano, a town near Naples that holds the official title of the only "City of Pasta" in the world. But here is the mind-blowing part: it wasn't just built for people, it was literally architecturally engineered to feed macaroni!

Back in the 19th century, when the town was redesigned, architects laid out the streets and adjusted the heights of the buildings with one specific goal: to create a natural wind tunnel. 🏙️💨

By channeling the perfect, moisture-rich breezes coming down from the Lattari Mountains mixed with the sea air, the entire city became a giant, open-air food dehydrator. Pasta makers would literally hang long strands of spaghetti and macaroni on huge wooden rods right out on the streets to dry naturally in the wind!

Talk about urban planning at its finest. Who cares about traffic flow when you can optimize carb flow? 🤷‍♂️💛

Today, Gragnano Pasta is world-famous (and holds a prestigious IGP European protection status), all thanks to a perfect mix of volcanic water, premium durum wheat, and some very clever architecture.

Next time you open a box of pasta, remember: some cities are built on rock and roll, but Gragnano was built on macaroni! 🇮🇹✨

🧀🌿 STOP EVERYTHING! Have you ever heard of a mozzarella that wears a "perfume"? Let us introduce you to the ultimate hidden gem of Campania: Mozzarella nella Mortella! ✨

Forget plastic packaging. In the beautiful area of Basso Cilento, they wrap ultra-fresh mozzarella in actual branches of myrtle (locally called mortella).

Why? Because back in the day, clever Cilento shepherds used myrtle to protect and transport the cheese. But they accidentally created a masterpiece: the myrtle acts as a natural preservative AND infuses the cheese with an incredible, wild Mediterranean aroma. 🤯🌾

What does it taste like?
Think of an elongated, compact mozzarella with a rich flavor of fresh butter and yogurt, finished with those aromatic, herbal notes of myrtle. It’s basically a vacation for your tastebuds. 🏖️👅

How to eat it like a local:
Unwrap it (yes, it smells amazing!), slice it up, and serve it with ripe tomatoes, juicy olives, and a generous drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Pair it with a glass of local wine, and you are officially in paradise. 🍅🍷

Because this artisanal craft is so special, it’s protected as a Slow Food Presidio! 🏆 Want to try it? You can find this authentic magic from historic Cilento producers like Tenuta Chirico (they even have an online shop!) or Cicco Di Buono through specialized campanian retailers.

Forget ordinary cheese. It’s time to upgrade your appetizer game! 🌿🧀

(Fun fact: Don't confuse it with the famous "La Mortella" botanical gardens in Ischia—though both are absolutely beautiful and smell like heaven!)

🧙‍♀️ Forget Hogwarts... Italy has its own City of Witches, and they make a mean cocktail! 🧹✨

If you think Italy is only about ancient Romans and Renaissance art, let's take a trip to Benevento, famously known as the "Città delle Streghe" (City of Witches).

It all started back in the Middle Ages with the Janare—local witches who, legend says, gathered for wild pagan rituals under a sacred walnut tree along the Sabato river. The Lombards (who ruled the area back then) would ride around the tree on horseback, catching animal skins with their spears in honor of the goddess Diana and the god Wotan. To the locals, this looked like straight-up sorcery. 🐎🌳

Fast forward to today: the witches might be hiding, but their magic is still bottled up!

The city's legendary legacy lives on in the world-famous Liquore Strega (literally "Witch Liqueur"), created in 1860. This vibrant, bright yellow spirit gets its color from saffron and is made with a top-secret recipe of about 70 different herbs and spices from all over the world. It’s sweet, complex, and packs a punch—legend says that if two lovers drink it together, they will stay together forever! 💛🥃

So, who's up for a magical shot, or are you too afraid of the spell? 😉👇

🚀🌕 PROUD ITALY GOES TO SPACE (AGAIN)! ✨

Big news, world! NASA just announced the crew for the upcoming Artemis III mission, and guess who’s going to be the pilot driving this spaceship? None other than our space legend, Luca Parmitano! 🧑‍🚀✈️

Born in Paternò, Sicily, Luca is officially taking his Mediterranean energy straight into orbit! While the rest of the crew are doing their thing, he will be representing Europe and, most importantly, Italy, as they pave the way for humanity's return to the Moon in 2027.

Luca got super emotional during the announcement, proudly stating that Italy is his "launchpad" and that his Italian education gave him all the tools to get where he is today. From the slopes of Mount Etna to the stars... honestly, we couldn't be prouder! ❤️🤍💚

Plus, let’s be real for a second: the new space suits for the mission are being co-developed by Prada. So we have a Sicilian pilot and Italian high fashion in orbit. Coincidence? We think not. Style is mandatory, even at 400 km above Earth! 💅🪐

From watching Goldrake as a kid in Sicily to making history with NASA, Luca is ready for the ultimate road trip.

Mamma mia, Luca, all of Italy (and especially Paternò!) is cheering for you! Bring some good Sicilian passion up there! ☕🚀
