I started working with IKEA in 2022.
I would never have imagined designing at such a global scale. It happened, almost quietly, around 2021-22 and it changed my perspective on what a project can become. Designing for IKEA means knowing that an object will enter thousands of homes, becoming part of everyday life. I like the idea that these objects will be used, touched, and lived with - as quiet presences in people’s daily gestures.
Over these years, we have designed Trisdno, Rorkult, Backnate (both pendant and table versions), and this year Mossplym and Tradnate.
They respond to very different functions, but share this same intention.
I hope they will have a long, natural life at IKEA.
