Edizioni Design finding beauty into essentials, a complex journey into sharp edges and raw metallic parts. EDIZIONI is something that we call naked design.

EDIZIONI see its first light in Milano pushed by the need to combine different multidisciplinary skills aimed to the creation of a new products and complements collection distinguished by a resolute and recognizable design. Edizioni’s stylistic, commercial and productive vision comes from the synergy between Alberto Sala (ASPS Design Studio), Paolo Sala (ASPS Design Studio) and Federico Ferrari, l

inked since a long time connection of interests and passions about design, architecture and communication. Edizioni’s products are placed in a “out of the pack” position, in a world where the low edition production technology, such as the 3d printing, is more and more ended in itself. The design intent was on one hand to investigate narrow industrial sectors, the fireplace world for instance, and on the other hand trying to offer rational and, in a way, primitive design where the form is strongly carved by the function and material processing needs. Technology involved is deliberately “lo-fi”, while the main material is bath plated metal in its multitudinous and precious variants. Edizioni’s products are at last enriched by junction details deliberately left visible and combined with carved stone where big volumes were needed. The Formal result is far away from a “cold” and strongly rational product but it unleash the emotion of strong contrasts, volumes and hollows, sharp edges and smooth curves. Edizioni is what we call “Naked Design”

Il Progetto edizioni nasce a Milano dalla voglia di unire competenze multidisciplinari differenti per materializzare una nuova collezione
di prodotti e complementi dal design deciso e ben riconoscibile. La visione stilistica, commerciale e produttiva di EDIZIONI nasce dalla sinergia tra Alberto Sala (ASPS Design Studio), Paolo Sala (ASPS Design Studio) e Federico Ferrari, legati da tempo da interessi e passioni comuni nel mondo del design, architettura e comunicazione. I prodotti si collocano in una posizione volutamente al di fuori
del coro di un mondo dove la tecnologia produttiva a bassa tiratura,
come ad esempio la stampa 3d, risulta sempre più fine a se stessa. L’intento progettuale è stato quello da un lato di indagare settori merceologici ristretti come ad esempio in mondo del fuoco attorno
al camino, e da un altro lato cercando di proporre un disegno razionale
e in qualche modo primitivo dove la forma è fortemente determinata
dalla funzione e dalle esigenze di lavorazione del materiale. La tecnologia utilizzata è stata volutamente ed esageratamente “LO-FI”
mentre il materiale principalmente proposto è il metallo finito a bagno galvanico nelle innumerevoli e preziose varianti che questa tecnica consente. I prodotti sono infine arricchiti da dettagli di giunzione volutamente lasciati visibili e dall’accostamento dalla pietra tornita dov’era necessario avere volumi imponenti. Il risultato formale è in ogni caso ben lontano da un prodotto “freddo”
e fortemente razionale, ma lascia spazio all’emozione e alla vertigine di forti contrasti tra pieni e vuoti, tra spigoli affilati e curve morbide. Edizioni è quello che noi chiamiamo “Naked Design”
